Well this is a first for me, I’m not a big user of the Forums. I’m not a hardcore user, just someone who over the last few years has hauled 7 characters through normal PvE content, done the storylines, followed the Living world episodes and managed to do 508 levels in WvW (most solo, but some with guilds).

I like Guildwars 2, it’s can be played in short bursts or all day if you want – and I’ve always found it to be fun. Some of the content can be challenging, but if you plug away at it you’ll succeed.

That is until today.

I’ve just busted my **** off in work for the last three days, you know the sort of really crappy shifts that make you think “thank god there is a day off coming up”.

I’ve done a few things that needed to be done and this afternoon I thought I would try to get my Revenant through Hearts an Minds. You know, play the game for a bit of fun and stress relief (!)

2nd biggest mistake I made today. Absolute frustration – bugs galore. If I ever see Canach in real life I’m going to find his non existant shield and shove it so far up he will be able to see his tonsils in the reflection off it.

Gave up in the end.

Soooo I decide to do Dragon Stand (this is the biggest mistake today). I get taxied into a nice full zone. Wonderful, here goes. Central track, we’re doing well. We get to the gate, other two tracks get to their gates not long after us and then we all run around in circles for a bit (hey this is a really good taxing mechanic Anet content designers – well done… /cough).

So we all managed to beat the respective champions and off we go into the Island phase. Hey we’re not doing bad here either, short while later we get the mouth of Mordremoth to about 15%. I jump into an updraft to get to one island that needs some help and BAM……

Yep, you guessed it crashed to Desktop with some sort of serious error and the Anet box telling me I can send them a message “to help improve the game”.

Thankfully I’m in a squad/group. Log back in. Can I rejoin that map. Can I hell. Get some message telling me about some network error. Weird because I’m actually connected to the Internet and GW2 other wise I wouldn’t have been able to see the network error message n the first place!

So Anet programmers. Thank you, really, thank you for an amazing night…….

Perhaps at sometime you could take a break from Glider skins and do something about this sort of thing.

I know how you feel. I received one in dragon stand halfway through the event as well and map was full when I tried to return.

After 4 consecutive same errors towards the end of tangled depths meta event in the last two days (I can’t finish the event – it always crashes the game) I just gave up right there and stopped playing.

Since I need to farm exp to get masteries, I wasn’t even doing it out of fun in the first place. Really annoying

Those crashes without re-entry can be soooo frustrating. I got them all the time until the 64-bit client arrived. Now I launch with 64-bit and can rely on making it all the way through any meta I join.

If you haven’t installed the 64-bit client (see FAQ in the stickies, top of this forum) give it a whirl. You don’t have to install the whole game all over again, just that one bit and put another shortcut on your desktop that goes to it rather than the 32-bit one.

Just repeating what I’ve heard, but supposedly using the 64 bit client version helps with a lot of the technical difficulties. If you aren’t using it now it might be worth switching over. Don’t know for sure if it’ll help, but worth a shot.

I’ll try it. Thank you. Hopefully I’ll get through one tangled depths without incident

Took the advice given and downloaded the 64bit client. Managed to get through a successful DS attack without a crash so that is a good sign. Will have to see what happens on future run throughs.

Anet still need to step up to the plate and sort out the bugs in the finale of the HoT story mission though. Don’t get me wrong, I actually like HoT it is challenging, but to have the end event as bugged as it is, is simply not on.

The only fear I have now is that the Spring update is incoming in a few days I really do hope it has fixes for the HoT story ending rather than a case of “ooo shiney object over there look, see, oh what was that HoT?, oh no, just move on nothing more to see here, look shinies that way……”

Well now that you don’t crash you might get the opportunity to get kicked out of the instance because the game decided that the instance doesn’t have enough people 1 hour ago and it must be closed no matter what.

I have to say that it really sucks that you can be in a squad, crash, and then still not get back to what you were doing. There goes the concept that being in a squad or group is the fix-all for crashes.
