i would like to know how much disk space “aprox” will HoT take? i wanna be ready and as some players probably, my space is very limited this days

Would appreciate some info.. like ex: aprox 2-5-10gb? don’t know!

Probably mostly already downloaded. For example, if you look at where Verdant Brinks is you can see the map icons for the Pact Outposts.

Currently it takes up 21.7GB. Since the requirement is 35GB, that means you’ll be downloading ~13GB.

Those numbers don’t say whether or not some or all is already downloaded. Each beta had a sizeable download already. (And Verdant Brinks is already downloaded. You can see map markers).

When Guild Wars 2 launched the data requirements were 25GB. We were nowhere near that amount at launch. Even up until HoT data started to be downloaded (these past few months), our .dat files were less than 20GB. We are now up to about 22-23GB.

Thus, the new extra 10GB of data required is a cushion toward the future. I am pretty sure there won’t be a 13GB patch on release day. It should not be very much more than the patches we have been downloading recently.

General rule of thumb: if you need to ask how much disk space something will be you need a bigger drive. Yes, easier said than done but lots of things will have decreasing performance if they run out of space to put caches and system files.

For example, my SSD is much larger than I will ever need. Why? Well, why not? SSDs tend to like being able to move things around. The ideal for this before diminishing returns is 7% but if you can do more may as well and eke that extra performance out.

Similarly my HDD is also large. It is not a system drive (well, unless you count the partition that mirrors the SSD boot drive). Why not get a 512 GB external or something and skip the mirroring? Simple. HDDs are much less expensive than SSDs so anything you can put on a HDD saves you on some pretty valuable real estate.

This is a roundabout way of saying you may need more space if you are concerned at how big it is. A drive is cheep compared to some other upgrades. Or are you worried about download time?

As to the original question we do not have any hard data but I would not expect it to be something like a magnitude more than the current package. Say no more than twice, but most likely quite a bit less.
