I was emailed another serial code after paying $49 to upgrade my account. Is the HoT serial code the same as the one on the main account? I forgot.

When I submit a ticket, which serial code do I use?

It’s not the same serial number as the expansion “replaces” your old vanilla account with a new vanilla plus expansion account. If it were me contacting support, I would use the new serial number but add the old one if I have it with a note, just in case.

The emailed code is a copy for your records in case you have to verify that you are the true owner of the account in case you get hacked. The same code should be automatically applied to your account if you bought H.O.T directly from Anet.

not sure about that but I activated it by myself after buying from anet

If you upgrade through the in game store, which applies the upgrade automatically to the account you get the email with the code and note it is for your records. If you upgrade by buying through the web site store you get an email with the code and instructions on how to upgrade which includes the link to register.arena.net.
