A lot of people are looking at this the wrong way, the more i think about it. Were calling Anet all type of names because of a price tag and lack of character slots, and how small HOT looks right now. A few of these events have happened before and some have been fixed, others have been neglected for a while. Anet does try to fix things, but as a lot of you know by now… Everyone can’t be pleased.

Its not that Anet is going silent. They have to go back to the drawing board and negotiate their deals with their superiors (yes even they are being ran by someone).

Flaming them onward isn’t going to help our cause or any new players that would like to join our community. A lot of you know too well things don’t get fixed in 1 day or sometimes even a week. If we do nothing to help Anet fix the loads of problems they face everyday other than ranting about mess ups on their half on the forums, then we might as well stop playing now and ask them to shut down the servers…

Which i know also a lot of you don’t want that cuz you enjoy the game and what it has to offer, otherwise you would have stop playing long ago. And if you hanging on because you waiting for something good to happen, you’re in the wrong game already.

Don’t be the boatloads of people that jump on the forums and rant how bad the game is, and threaten to leave because it’s content doesn’t suit YOUR needs… You don’t like it, leave! Nobody is holding you at gun point saying “PLAY THE GAME OR ELSE!!!”.

Now on the subject of HOT. HOT is still in the works people. We do not know everything it has to offer. Heck we don’t even have all the specialization up and going (waiting on my Thief class still )

Look at it this way: People want the expansion as a separate price tag. Reasonable… but you STILL need GW2 to play the expansion. Which i understand a lot (including myself) have already, but picture it this way. Look at how big the map is on GW2. You see a lot of area that look familiar from GW1 that are blurred out and were fully explorable by the end GW1 series (EotN), before the launch of GW2 right??? Now GW2 is out, and these areas are blurred out still but Anet gave us our first hint that these area will be maps at some point by just naming the familiar location (Ring of Fire for example, bottom left of the map). We may not be getting here anytime soon but, where we are going is into Maguuma Wastes. 2 new maps were the startup which people have farm the kitten out of lol. So there won’t be too much hype there. HOT is bringing 3 new maps which a select few only know how big. And is the starting point of new locations in Maguuma Jungle.

(This is speculation so i’m not jumping to conclusions). Anet at least read this and drop a bloody hint if i am somewhere near right plz!?! It will at least calm the majority down on how much HOT will offer as of it current state. HOT will at least open up the whole Top left or bottom of the map and will run off the LS. Which i figured since they revealed new areas with the LS progress, that’s how we will get new maps in HOT. I’m pretty sure Anets not just going to release 3 maps and call it a day. If they gave us the whole big chunk at once. Beta players (as some of you are currently), will storm threw the whole LS if it is available and spill the beans before we are actually able to play it Some like spoiler alerts, others don’t. I for a fact know that’s why Anet didn’t add all the stuff in HOT for the above reason. Not everyone keeps their exp with beta testing quiet. I read enough forum post to say this without doubt, even being a tester at some point for GW2 launch

In all folks. Anet may have handled the HOT pre purchase (from the Standard to Ultimate) options and what you get from them poorly. That doesn’t mean it can’t be fixed. A lot of people simply want a character slot kitten for the Standard upgrade. That can easily be adjusted, and if not… Anet you really might want to consider shifting the staff to what will benefit you more than harm your business with backfire.

HOT is not fully ready and the vast of us know this. We need to give it more time to see where it goes. We need to be more positive on this, then negative. When Anet decides to talk, they will. Hopefully sooner than later. Try not to turn this into another negative feedback post people, keep it friendly I want to hear what you think?

Before the launch of gw2 they have repeatedly assured gw1 player that they get full autonomy to do what they want from ncsoft. Including marketing their game in b2p business model and giving free update.

Well at least my statement is back by past interview. Did they pm/email/tweet you that their hand are tight in this matter? Defend with fact and not just wishful thinking.

Anet is founded by blizzard founder who is fed up and tired of the bureaucratic environment at blizzard as it had grown out of their hand into the hand of shareholder and they vow to make it right with anet.

No i don’t lol Yet you wouldn’t know yourself cuz you don’t work for them either do you? Imma go with… No Channel you don’t. So much for a positive feed from people. Any more question?

It’s not the end of the world. Anet screwed the pooch and doesn’t seem to be neither willing nor able to do anything about it – hence the silence. “We’re reading your opinions” is largely similar to politicians say “we’re listening to your needs”. The former will move back to "ignore the complaints about bugs and make a “Mini Rock Rainbow Collection”. The latter will just blatantly ignore the people for 4 years and stuff their pockets with taxpayers’ money.

The GW1 community did what it could to support Anet then. They trusted Anet when GW2 became available for pre-order/purchase and got a boot in their teeth. And here’s the thing, when one party goes haywire like this, it loses the next elections. It isn’t given infinite second chances. So a gesture of good will from Anet is mandatory before any of the disgruntled people here will take any steps towards “signing a peace treaty”.

It’s nice to see Anet’s fans advocating for them, even in such conditions. Their effort to swipe the big cow pile under the rag is worthy of an extra character slot alone!

On the other hand, where I live $50 is 20% of the minimum wage and I would still buy HoT if through some miracle Anet would return to its roots, caring about the game and community, not about playing good puppy for NC.

Thank you for your reply Omocha. 50 dollars wont bother me much, but i can’t speak for everyone. I’m waiting basically on my class Specialization (Thief) and also to see where this evolves before i throw money at Anet. I’m willing to support Anet and all but like you said: A gesture of goodwill from Anet is mandatory before any of the disgruntled people here will take any steps towards “signing a peace treaty”
