Another rant post
They can’t do anything about the prices now, or even add bonus features since they have the Deluxe Edition already. What’s done is done. All they can do is apologise, but doubt they will do it since it wouldn’t even matter to players now.
I am confused as to how that has anything to do with my post, it’s a pool on when they will actually make a comment that all not asking reasons, not giving any, just lay your date down.
Oh my bad, misunderstood. My prediction is never, because I don’t think they know what to say or that it would even matter. If they didn’t address the issues in the first 24-48h then I don’t think they’ll ever do.
My bet on Friday, June 19 at 12:00 Noon Pacific Time. Or July 1. Damage control usually works for 2 weeks.
Oh you want to play it that way then?
Hey all,
We understand that there are many opinions and suggestions about the game versions and the pre-purchase program. We will continue to read your thoughts and thank you for sharing them.
Edit to add: We will share your input with the team.
Then. And that’s all we’ll get, says Madamme Soleil.
Where did Gaile talked about those problems ?
i have only read the title but the answer is never
[Skol]
Never.
In terms of policing, ANet is ways too close to Blizzard and ways too far from Valve for something like this ever to happen.
Sorry.
It’s not that easy. Many have already bought the packages and it will get pretty hairy when they change their minds now.
They’ve already thrown poor Gaile at us, who can still rely on her considerable pool of respect from days past, to do some patch up work. I doubt there will be much of a reaction other than that.
That means next to nothing for new users like myself, I want to know why I am being forced to forfeit a toon for an “expansion” or cave into the ultimatum and buy a slot, thereby making the game cost $60 for me.
I don’t believe that they “can’t” change things now. Sure they can! They can drop the price for the expansion by $10-$20 and re-change the FAQ to say the BUNDLE is a discounted base game with the full-price expansion. That way, new players who have already pre-ordered don’t lose a thing, vet players who pre-purchased can be given gems to compensate for the price, and the lower price corrects the harm they already caused.
Are you familiar with the phrase “The Die is Cast”? Its not that Anet won’t back down on their price point, it’s that they CAN’T.
The price for pre-purchase is NOT going to go down between now and launch. No company willingly puts themselves through thousands of refunds. They’re already up a creek with the decision to tack on the base game after promoting sales of the base game to new players (best case scenario there is they offer to sell the expansion to those new customers for $50 minus what they already paid).
What might happen is more gets added to the $50-and-up bundles, so that they can cajole the hesitant into buying and when dealing with earlier buyers they just have to attach the new goodies. …But the money already in their hands ain’t gonna go flowing out.
Regardless, my bet is we’re not going to see any official action until after E3 for a variety of reasons.
I wonder what your basis for comparison is…”

Why would they comment? They just need to wait it out for a few weeks, maybe a little more, and the hype will build and most people will forget all about the price, the lack of a character slot and any other grievances they have. A small percentage will hold out and not buy the game at release but a good number of them will end up being persuaded by their friends and guilds to “join the fun!!!”
Look how often wvw players have sworn not to buy one more gem for a transfer or that they’re done with the game mode until Anet “fixes” it. But after all the complaining we still buy gems to transfer and we still play wvw.
i doubt we are going to get more . im hoping they might add a slot for veteran players but thats all i want but ill probably preorder when i got the money to do it
Emmm I bet 32. June!
