After reviewing all the information concerning the new content being added in HoT, I’m left with a bitter taste in my mouth. Collecting spoons was one of the greatest additions to the GW2 playing experience since the games conception and I am just baffled by the idea of it not receiving any updates. Sure the new class is great, and hang gliding sounds fun, but to not even as much as acknowledge the spoon collecting community. I hope something manages to work it’s way into the expansion to satisfy the severe lack of spoon related content in the game. Anybody feel the same?

I’m praying this is not trolling…

I don’t see any of the past collections being changed in the expansion. For one thing, there aren’t that many cultures in the jungle (I imagine). Those that are probably aren’t mass-producing commemorative spoons. Second, if new spoons are suddenly added for this collection, that’ll mean you need more spoons to complete the collection, which some people have already finished. Admittedly, map completion has been changed a few times, but rarely on a scale that matters. Even when the map did change, the new additions aren’t needed to gain map completion. So what incentive will there be for most players to collect these new spoons?

If collecting is your thing, they did promise lots of new collections, so your itch’ll be scratched. If you just want new spoons to collect, I’m afraid that probably won’t be the case.

Hopefully we’ll be moving on to forks with HoT. Nobody eats salad with a spoon, after all.

And when done with forks, we have to find more spoons and forks to mystic forge em into

Please, thimbles are nothing compared to spoons! Spoons are practical and beautiful. For example, you can’t drink soup with a thimble: it’d take forever and go cold.

Gazpacho maybe, if you have a spare hour (and who does in this crazy mixed-up world?)

I understand that they’ll be updating collections for HoT, but that isn’t my problem. Spoon collecting was a great way for me to explore the world as it gave me something to work towards. I even roleplay my main character as having a spoon collecting hobby. It would be a shame to ruin such an integral part of him because Anet forgot about a vocal minority. I’m sure there are more “Spooners” out there. Also, we should not even acknowledge sporks in the game. Nowhere in the lore was a spork even mentioned. No book, no in game dialogue, nothing. They’ve merely been riding on the success of spoons this entire time

That’s all well and good. Additional spoons to collect, or a second spoon collection entirely for Maguuma is not unwelcome. It’s probably a good idea; thimbles too; maybe some other kinds of knickknacks and/or a place in the Home to display them (yes, it’s unlikely, but possible). On the subject of other collections, however… to use the vernacular: “Coin collection or riot!”.

That spoon collection has actually ruined a large portion of my experience. Im sick to death of it, I wish it was never put in.

The bone spoon is of exotic quality, therefore it dilutes the drop table for other exotics from Tequatl. Prior to the spoon’s release, I would get an exotic every 2-3 runs of Tequatl. Since the spoon released, I have not received an exotic, even a Rune of The Sunless.

The Siege Master’s spoon makes me rue every day of my life every time I go to my bank and see it, because it is bugged. I have the god-infernal spoon, but for some reason, it is not unlocking in the collection.

I believe the Teq spoon is an extra addition, and does not take any loot spot. At least, the nerds on here said so. You only get the spoon if no exotic dropped for you. It is a bonus.

Maybe they’ll add a spoon deposit box in the GH that keeps track of the spoons (siege commander, Bone, and Fractal) that are sold to it by the guild. They could increase how much it buys the spoons as the number sold to it increases. for example, your guild has sold 1000 bone spoons to the box, so now it will buy bone spoons for 20 silver.

No no, you’re all missing the point. What we need to add along with the spoons is Knives and Forks. (I’m aware that someone mentioned forks yes.). After that all three of these collections need to pool into a 4th collection all equating to a collection of Silverware! (Silverwaste Silverware would have been a great achievement.).

Alternatively we need little commemorative plates with pictures of Destiny’s Edge (and Destiny Jr.) members on them.
