I purchased HoT standard edition about a week ago and still haven’t gotten the preorder bonus character slot for veteran players. Anyone with a similar experience? Does anyone know when is an account supposed to get one? I was expecting on launch, so I didn’t send a ticket before today, but the support is very busy.

Otherwise the expansion has been a blast so far.

I know, but the prepurchase one had it listed as a bonus for the veteran players.
Edit: But it is no longer shown on the purchase page, since the prepurchase period is over.

Yeah, you’re right. Then I can’t explain why you guys don’t have the slot unless it just takes some time. Sorry.

I got the Ultimate Edition and it gave me the character slot that came with it immediately, but the veteran character slot has not appeared for me either.

if you purchased hot before release and own gw2 core game from before 23 of january (iirc) you’ll receive the extra slot. I bought hot yesterday so I’ll wait some days before starting to panic.

kind of besides the point, the character slot was included in the price of the expansion, the expansion launched today and no character slot. I feel it is right for us to complain, everyone would do so if they bought something like lets say gems and then got told that sorry we are busy you will get them in a week or two.

I’m happy that I could download 3.6 gb smoothly and that the servers were almost perfect as usual. They can’t do everything.

But if I had to say something that I don’t like…. Tyria masteries. I have 53 points, no need to force me to farm again tyria for them.

Because I didn’t want to wait until some future time to get my “free” character slot to roll a revenant, I ended up splashing out in the gem store.

The bonus slots for veterans have been going out on Friday. If you don’t receive it by the end of the day today, I would start a support ticket.

btw, I received my extra slot in less than 24h and I purchased yesterday, so they’re pretty busy atm. It’s really strange what happened to you.

They said they were doing it in groups (so hopefully sometime by next week we’ll all have it).

I would have expected them to do the final group on launch day. A little bit sad that they didn’t. Means I have to wait a bit to try the revenant out >.>
I also don’t like the whole waiting thing because you don’t know if it is just a case of waiting, or if something has been screwed up.

I agree it would be best if it was added on launch or at least a message to the effect that it would be over the next few days.

I’m really not sure how to answer this… I purchased it from this site, when it was a HoT preorder. There was no free to play at that time, so I don’t know how I could possibly play without doing what is necessary. I’ve unlocked Daredevil on my theif, I was able to participate in the beta weekends, everything suggests I am HoT enabled.

If I am not eligible for a char slot, then the person responsible for the wording on preorder page has a lot to answer for.

Fast response yet again from CS, they are still rolling them out over the next few days, so sit tight, don’t panic and spare a thought for ANet, who we hope are at least consuming lots of pizza while they work really hard this weekend!

I’ve not even received the maguma title.

I also got a fast response from CS but not the one I wanted. It’s entirely my fault but I thought that everyone who pre-purchased would get the free char slot. I’m not a qualified “veteran” so no slot for me. It didn’t help that the first reply I got from CS was a bit misleading as it said something like “your char slot will be mailed to you in-game a few days after the HoT launch” so that gave me false hope. That hope wase dashed yesterday when I chased it up! So I was a bit grumpy, even though I have no real reason to be. I’m sure that those who are entitled to them will get them in the end.

I still think that all HoT purchases should include another slot, since the expac comes with a new profession. Why wouldn’t you also get a slot to try it out?

As someone who doesn’t want to/cannot pre-purchase for some reason, it seems like a penalty (especially if you have a veteran account). I know a lot of folks find the expansion worth the value, but the game is very solo-unfriendly right now, and if you play casually/mostly solo then there is a LOT less content available to you.

These things reduce the value for me personally, and I will not be purchasing HoT. $50 is too much for me when I have to buy a char slot on top of it.

The free character slot expansions are given to those who have bought HoT and bought GW2 before January 2015. I’m not sure if you get the slot if you bought HoT after end of July 2015.

People who bought Base GW2 after January 2015, pre-purchased HoT before end of July 2015, and bought both Base GW2 & HoT from the official GW2 website get their Base GW2 purchase refunded.

Have the same.. my account is from release. i hope we can get a gift for our patience …
