Anyone else try Glider HALO jumps?
Yeah. I was doing this a lot during Beta since I didn’t want to slot fall damage traits, with the exception of the Berserker. The repeated crash landings on enemies was too fun not to do.
Will update once Path of Fire releases.
That is awesome that you can Halo jump. It looks like it does require some good timing along with good latency to pull it off.
Yea this is one of the first things I did when I learned gliding It’s incredibly entertaining.
I did this and pretty much everything else you can do with wings, endlessly
Nowhere was immune from me dropping in in dramatic fashion. I’m in love. I keep jumping everywhere now and having a sad when nothing happens LOL

Actually I found it worked pretty well even with lag, maybe even better.
I think lag gives you a bit of extra time to ‘pull the chute’ before your death registers with the server. :P
I don’t think I ever cut it that close on purpose but yes, I found it very handy to break my fall at the last moment by tapping the glider open. If I misjudged height a bit and started lateral motion I could tap it again to drop the last few feet.
The problem for me came when I wanted to drop down to a mastery point but decided to be clever and use the trained skill to stall and drift straight down. I jumped, I stalled. And I splatted because I’d been so intent on hitting my stall key I forgot to deploy the glider first.
A nice — if puzzled — Charr saved me via a timely rez from having to run/glide all the way back to the drop point.
Yeah, I tend to play it a bit safer than that, popping the chute at more like “safe fall” height, but I would definitely drop like that to get where I was going fast.
you spend complaining about it on the forums, you’d be
done by now.”
Yeah, I’ve done it on purpose just to trigger the fall effects on a group of enemies at the last moment. I really enjoyed that.
