We recently unlocked the new guild armor recipe in our guild, but in order to craft them we need 5 Guild Insignia, which i’m so far unable to craft/get.

Guild Insignia is shown as a blue text item with an insignia icon similar to exotic insignia’s. The item text shows the following: “Crafted from shimmering or tenebrous shards. Used to craft guild armor (accound bound on accquire)”

So far i have been unable to craft it. In the discovery panel or the mystic forge panel shimmering or tenebrous crystals are not shown. So far i have not found any shimmering or tenebrous Shards (you can get the crystals from mining your guilds ore node if you are lucky).

Shimmering or tenebrous crystals are not listed as scribe crafting material. However it could be possible that you need to get a recipe from a scribe to ‘learn’ how to craft the guild insignia.

If anyone has more information about Guild insignia and or Shimmering/tenebrous SHARDS, please share.

On the side, perhaps a dev could confirm that it is indeed working as intended.

My main (Tsathogguha, a highly intelligent Asura Mesmer), discovered a Tenebrous Shard by using her “means to gather crafting materials protocol” on the Guild resource nodes in the Guild Hall.

She wonders if you have correctly applied the protocol to enable you to acquire this material? She is disappointed if you are an Asura and did not apply the scientific technique. Of course, if you are a Bookah * then it is to be expected.

“Bookah” is a large, loud, bellowing, and dumb imaginary creature that the Asura used to frighten their children. Since their surfacing, they use the term to refer to those they view as inferior beings, which to them is almost everyone who is not an Asura

So far i get only Tenebrous Crystals from the guild ore node (NOT SHARDS).
If you indeed got a Shard, what level of guild ore node does your guild have? (ours is only at lv 1, so hits 3/day and only copper ore + (if you are lucky) Tenebrous Crystals.
It is possible that an higher guild ore node gives out Shards, However so far noone reported about it.

And no i’m not an Asura, my mains are Human(aka Bookah for Asura) (thief) and Sylvari(aka “lab animals” for Asura) (mesmer)… and both are wondering if a Shard has indeed been found or that there has been (yet an other) mixup with the crystals which they already have plenty of.

Ok since the recipe for this has now indeed been added to the game (get it at the guild armorer for 10 crystalline ore and 3 commendations) the issue has been solved.

Despite that the guild insignia text still speaks of “shards”, you actually just need to use the crystals that you get from your guilds ore node (you need 1 for each guild insignia)

With that solved my characters like to suggest Tsathogguha to update her “item identification protocol” as it seems to be flawed…..

You get tenebrous crystals out of guild gather nodes.

Scribes can upgrade tenebrous crystals to shards… even if those are apparently not needed for guild armor, after all.
