In the expansion they will create a new app. Where you can buy from gemstore, create a wish list, take the chest of the daily, speak with your team mate and some rumor say that you will can change the traits and skill of your charter (this one I don’t think will never happen).

Maybe this is the very old news during pre-release of the original game: they had this idea but never came to fruition. Hence they allowed to use their API.

I think this was the original idea, to provide an Api that the community could use to create content, unfortunately up to now the api that they have provided has been very weak.

From what I remember, AN is holding back on much of the API functionality they could produce due to OAuth limitations. I vaguely remember reading a post that things like viewing/speaking in guild chat was on the todo list. I also remember reading they were waiting on the development of OAuth2 before allowing us to connect to the login-servers by means other than website/game client.

I think Frost means that he/she would like an app like this to be created, not that ArenaNet is developing one. Lost in translation.
