Yes and no. I usually change out reaper for blood magic in bigger group situations because it offers more utility.

Access to the new skills and weapon give it an extra power edge, but if those new weps and skills are of no concern then you can def live without it. So I would say they offer more power, but that doesn’t necessarily make them more powerful?

Some classes still have many builds where a third normal traitline offers more for their particular build than the elite does.

Depends on which one you are talking about.
Things like:
Dragonhunter, Chronomancer, Herald, Scrapper
for example are better and can be more powerful
Things like:
Reaper, Druid, Daredevil, and now Berserker are about the same or not very different from other specs (but definitely somewhat strong)

And then there is tempest which I consider to be the worst after berserker buffs (and considering they buffed berserker they likely will buff it again if it is still lackluster while Tempest recieved no changes). Tempest is at best not distinct/fun/all that strong with too much risk and not enough reward. Its best success is with staff ele and even that is a bit dubious imo because well…you don’t want to be that close to the enemy as a staff ele.

They are balanced, but some are more potent than some of the vanilla builds.

It helps if you can provide something more specific.

I disagree with this. I like the Tempest. Always did. Never did like staff though. Tempest is really good with the dagger warhorn build that I use. A lot of healing, condition removals, and auras. Now, I don’t like the whole dps is the only thing that matters idea. I have this scepter dagger build that I used to use and is a weaker version than the Tempest build. It may not be able to one hit enemies, but I can outlast them with ease, and bring most 1v1s to a stand still. I haven’t tested the Tempest build as much, but I think it will be just as good.

Seconded. Tempest is great. It seems like it was made for the jungle. I find the playstyle suits me and it suits the kind of enemies you encounter. You’re welcome to your other elites, Senario. Tempest is mine. All mine… muahhahahahaHAHAA.

Scrapper’s really only worth taking for PvP. In PvE, vanilla engi is flat out better for power and miles ahead for condi.

I’ve had a lot of people tell me “such and such spec is trash” and then other people tell me “such and such spec is op” for all of the elite specs. Based on that and my own personal experience with them, I feel like they’re fine overall, some numbers here and there need to be tweaked but nothing major.

The fact is, some people’s playstyles are better suited for certain specs than others, so they may feel that certain specs are OP while others are trash. I have yet to meet a single elite spec that can consistently beat me 1v1 regardless of the actual player behind the character. Some players beat me purely because they are better than me, others I beat because I am better than them. For example, I’ve wrecked multiple DH in sPvP that were wrecking my teammates and at the same time I’ve been wrecked by multiple DH in sPvP that my teammates had no issues beating.
