Been seeing people in LA mentioning at least 1 more Tyrian mastery track being introduced in anticipation of raids. Any idea what that’s all about?

I wouldn’t be too sure about that.
a), there would be the need to implement more sources for central Tyria mastery points
b), the raids take place in HoT regions, so it seems more likely that (possible) new mastery tracks would be placed in the Heart of Maguuma mastery section.

There is a new HoT mastery track coming that directly relates to raids. (see raid reward blog post on the main GW2 page).

There is also a possibility that the legendary weapon Tyria mastery will be extended to 6 tiers for the new legendary weapons that are being added. But so far that is just a rumor with no confirmation.

Great, and i who had hoped my 161 was the end in HoT but alas. I really do hope they add mastery points inside the raids

I purposefully saved a lot of my mastery points so I could get raid related mastery things right away. Though I do suspect raids will offer at least 1 mastery point for each boss/encounter.

Well, the current max of 161 is strangely unsatisfying, so maybe they raise it to like 200 or something.

I can find nothing in the News Blog about Raid Rewards that mentions a new Mastery Track. Just this line that references existing Mastery Tracks:

‘The Compendium of Knowledge awards a large amount of experience toward your currently equipped Mastery and is automatically consumed when you pick it up, similar to a Writ of Maguuma Mastery.’

I may be blind; could you link the pertinent statement? Thank you.

I don’t know about the one he is referencing, but there was a Sept 2nd blog post that said On top of the Mastery tracks available at release, each raid release will add more raid-specific Masteries for you to earn. (Designing challenging content)

Edit: it was a link in the site he mentioned, the words in red, Challenging Content, that led to another site that said We’ll be introducing new Mastery tracks and abilities that will be closely tied to progressing though raids, which our designers will be talking about in an upcoming blog.

Rift traveler mastery is the final gliding mastery!

I wish there was a text based lore mastery that would allow you to learn about stuff in Central Tyria.

Then scatter a bunch of books and maps and whatever around the world.

Edit: Actually, it is the word in red, ‘challenge’ that leads to the Sept. 2nd News Blog. It sounds like there won’t be new Masteries for this first Raid, but will be for subsequent ones.

Rift traveler mastery is the final gliding mastery!

Nah. That’s ley line gliding. None of the existing achievements have anything to do with rifts. I think the only time we’ve ever encountered rifts was in the final story mission.
