You fight his physical, draconic manifestation at the end of the Dragon Stand meta event. Remember from the story where they say he’s concentrating most of his efforts on the fight outside allowing you to slip into his territory? Everyone is fighting what is called his Mouth. Remember, Mordremoth exists in the ENTIRE jungle. You can’t defeat him physically, but you can assault his mouth to stop him from feeding on ley-energy. That’s what the pact is doing while you are going in for the kill. It’s actually well done IMO. You still get the Elder Dragon fight in open world, but you kill him for real in the actual story. A billion times better than Zhaitan IMO.

Understood, though i hope we don’t have to kill every dragon in this fashion. My idea of end boss is the dragon in its entirety. A fight like the ones against Tequatl, Claw of Jormag, or Shatterer but on a much larger scale. Go to Hoelbrak and take a look at Jormag’s tooth in the great hall. It’s easily 50 ft tall. Kralkatorrik is said to be 1000 feet tall or long. I understand you couldn’t possibly do a boss that big and see your character, but look back at the fight against Abbadon in Guild Wars. He is a God but very large. You fight his hands and head, they’ve gone that road before with 2005 era graphics. He was a large boss that was well done and could be implemented into the other elder dragon fights. Boss example: Have a Huge elder dragons head and neck that breaths fire, attacks, and stuff on a large battle ground. His claws are a separate area as well that attack. He could aloft and do large areal attacks with wind/fire/whatever and have a pattern to dodging that phase. Near death have things get randomized and faster pace or new more powerful attack. Would be very challenging IMO
Edit: OK I did not play the meta event but that’s close to what i was talking about. I you tubed it just now
