Pretty sure ArenaNet wants more constructive feedback… you’re not helping at all. Give specific examples of what you don’t like so they can consider changes. Did you not read the post about what they were looking for with feedback? They specifically said the kind of feedback they want from us. It doesn’t matter, ArenaNet has your money, but at the same time I kittening care that the game isn’t boring. Give good feedback man.

Give us more GW 1 weapon and armor skins, please. COPY/PASTE ALREADY!!!!

Oh sorry, I thought there isn’t really much more to say – during both event chains around outposts in this beta, the only thing you do is killing mobs while capturing those outposts, defending those outposts from more mobs and then protecting npc… from yet another wave of mobs. During BWE1 we were given some sniper rifles to shoot enemy mobs, we had to extinguish a burning village. During BWE2 there are no interesting events during those event chains. All I can say is that I expected better diversity of events, and not just killing mobs.

That is 100% opinion. I am the opposite. I hate stupid events that force me to use items or put out fires. This BWE2 is far more to my style of play.

While I do agree that sometimes events that force you to use certain bundle can be annoying, events that are based solely on killing mobs can be as much boring – we have been doing this for three years now! We should have events that can be completed in different ways – not just killing stuff.

I do think that they need to speed these events up considerably. Take the current day/night cycle. Halve both portions. Reduce the number of waves and repetitions in the day cycle events so that you progress from one to the next at a faster pace.

There are more than just wave events. There is at least one event where you follow and defend a group of mobs. When you get to the camp you’re thrown a couple waves of weird mobs to kill. Once you clear out the waves you follow a different group of mobs you need to defend. At the very end of which you get a boss fight with a Wyvern.

Honestly, even without any gimmicks, or extended chains I find the mobs themselves interesting enough to warrant uniqueness to the rest of the game just by virtue of their existence.

Yeah, in general principle it works fine, but in practice when they do get to the wave portions, maybe send one or two less waves. Just tighten up the pacing a little bit.

You obviously didn’t do the Faren event chain. The dialogue alone is pretty entertaining not to mention listening to and talking tot he NPC’s during and after the event chain. If you found that event chain boring then there is no hope for you.

It’s cool that Lord Faren made one chain more fun (wasn’t it boring before he appeared though?), but that won’t last if you’ll do it more than once, maybe twice. The other event chain with Blighting tree was also mostly boring. Especially the beginning, where you just have to kill few beefy frogs, wait for waves and defend some poor npcs or positions…it just takes so long and it is not combat that is too fun.

What is fun are enemies that have some sort of mechanic that you have to watch out for. So wyvern, that spinning dude boss and probably the same dude that instead of spinning has that skip it type of vine where you have to jump to avid it.

The rest of the enemies are kinda just boring frogs. You just run around them and they won’t hit you (which is cool if you didn’t have to run around for 5 minutes). Moreover, they are incredibly beefy so it feels quite pointles even trying to kill them when the zerg will do it probably in the same amount of time without you. I wish the burn phase, when their breakbar is down, was much more significant so that you actually can feel that you are doing something.

It would be nice to have more interesting things to do. If you only have a bunch of generic frogs with boring mechanics around then collectinig airship parts while having to use some masteries is definitelly more fun than just killing a big frog for 5 minutes. So there definitelly are cool ideas from ANet

I don’t know, maybe there are masteries that will allow us to kill those frogs faster in the future so it won’t be such a problem. But there is a lot of events where you feel insignificant at the moment because you are literally just running around a mob while dpsing. It is much more fun if there are some burn phases like during vinewrath in silvervastes…

I agree with you on the airship collection event. It takes too long to fill the quota. It needs to be shortened some and having the event finish faster will solve it’s main problem.

I found the Bullfrogs fun to fight. Condi damage is the way to go against their natural toughness. And the use of masteries are used there to get back and forth quickly.

And this is different from what game out there? I’ve played computer games since the BBS days before when all they had was dial-up and they are ALL pretty much “kill this”, “guard this” and “gather this” etc. or maybe a combo of them all.

If by harder you mean larger zergs. There’s nothing challenging about zerg content like dynamic events. You just brute force it with numbers of people mashing their 1 key.

The problem is that killing stuff is 100% of the events – you collect by killing mobs, you escort by killing mobs etc. At the end it doesn’t matter if you collect or escort, as the only thing you care about is killing stuff.

What do you want? Click on stuff and have animations like things are happening? Even using the sniper rifles was just killing stuff that couldn’t fight back.

You’re looking for Adventures then. Most of that kinda stuff is getting moved to adventures, so try those. Personally I’m fine with straight combat events. Even the already existing events have some interesting goals, for example, in the Blightree chain you need to use stability and coordinate to make sure those using the bombs don’t get CCd.

If you’re looking for non combat events, Adventures are for you. Sucks that they aren’t in this BWE.

I enjoy the story, the variety, and the way events take you across the map. I wouldn’t mind them taking a few minutes to complete if the mobs we’re fighting had more interesting behavior. ANet talks about wanting us to use all our abilities, right now these events are just a small step above events from the original game, and I’m still just pressing 1 and occasionally using CC and dodging.

I prefer events where I have to kill mobs or escort and kill en route. Having to run around collecting eggs or rounding up baby cows is just a pain imo. I find any renown heart that doesn’t progress when mobs are killed in the related area to be irritating and it just puts me off even bothering with them. I suppose to take that away would impact the variety of the quests, but what else can you do?

In really enjoyed the story of the 4 event chains (in BWE1 and BWE2). However, because these event chains repeat so often, I do not feel to accomplish anything with mastering an event chain. And after a few repetitions the story gets less and less interesting and the events persist mainly only of fighting. But to zerg down everything with a lot of people is not really interesting or challenging for me.

So yes, after I did these event chains several times, they become kind of boring for me, too.

So I really hope, that in the final map(s) there will be much more of such event chains, so that it takes longer until they repeat themselves for a player and that the players on the map spread over more events, so that there are less players per event.
