The main access to The Underworld is submerged in Godslost Swamp (aka Temple of Ages). The other entrance would be Grenth’s Door in Reapers Gate. I used to use this alternative entrance when we didn’t have favor in GW1 and i had expended all my UW scrolls. Does this entrance to UW have anything to do with Lay Lines and why Scarlet was so close at Marionette’s Landing?
Will there ever be a Reaper at Grenth’s Door wanting 1g for passage to The Underworld?
Why are there Six Gods and Seven Reapers?

It’s interesting and I’d love to know the answer but I’m afraid ANet will never revisit UW/FoW due to the inclusion of new playable races (norn, charr, sylvari, etc.) and the difficulty of all these colliding gods.
Actually, the mythos of Tyria is built in such a way that the different races’ religions don’t necessarily conflict.
Keep in mind also that the Human gods did, at one point, live bodily on Tyria and is not disputed.
I honestly don’t believe that they will bring this back, given the focus on Dragons and such, but I don’t think that it would be difficult to implement, lore-wise.

- The Human pantheon represents the only theistic religion in the game right now (among the major playable races)
- The Asura believe in the Eternal Alchemy, which is almost Animistic in it’s conception.
- The Charr (with the exception of the Flame Legion, which worship Titans as gods) are largely atheistic.
- The Norn belief system consists of ancestor worship and worship of animal spirits.
- The Sylvari are tied to the Dream/Nightmare, which is a creation of (or perversion of) the Pale Tree, which is not necessarily a Deity.
Keep in mind also that the Human gods did, at one point, live bodily on Tyria and is not disputed.

This ^.
Though I wouldn’t call the Char Atheist.
They know the human gods exist (as do all the races) they just don’t worship them. Some even hate the human gods due to how much they allowed humanity to dominate over them in ages past.
The Asura know they exist as well but don’t think its worth the time/effort of worshiping them because there is no way to guarantee their favor/help.
The Norn know the human gods exist as well but have their own spirits & thus don’t see the point in worshiping human gods.
The Sylvari have second hand accounts of the human gods from other races, but have never really seen anything they have done as they did it.
So could they bring back the human gods ? yes, but the why would be kinda complicated seeing as the gods can just sit in the mists or wherever and wait the dragons out.
Would be the best thing they could do pve wise…

It looks like Anet originally started work on the Fissure of Woe for GW2, but maybe it was abandoned, due to time constraints or budget constraints. This would also explain the sloppy dungeons, and the missing endgame content in general.
Was the Underworld ever on the agenda? I’d like to think so, but as far as we know, they never got that far. I really hope we’ll see the return of both areas eventually.
