If you so desire, you can use Google to search for the Dev response about sitting on chairs (basically, part of the engine and different size models). I’m unsure if there has been a response about emotes; more emotes were recently added. I don’t know what the ‘lack of things’ specifically are, so I find it hard to comment on those.
Good luck.

Cosplay: you have to do it the old-fashioned way, with armor and dye. There are a LOT of armor skins and dye colors out there; you can achieve some amazing results if you do your homework. One of my guildies is Tony Stark Of Tyria, and he’s managed to replicate the Iron Man armor almost exactly, aside from the helmet (but char is more recognizable with goateed face visible anyway). Another guildie has both his asura and his norn done up like Ronald McDonald.
A dev actually elaborated on the problem.
Different races have different skeletons, and when they sat down in chairs, which during beta was an actual thing, they started glitching out in the worst ways.
The only way they could fix it was make four seperate chais for the four skeletons they use, but then you’d have to see 4 different chairs in game and you can only sit down in one of them. Maybe one day we’ll get a chair for the GH, which you craft yourself so you know the compatible skeleton, but I wouldn’t hold my breath for it

Um, okay, you can have my chair. I’ll just… exit, stage left.
I guess I remember the days when RP was all text and didn’t require an animation to be a thing. I’m not sure I like this new breed of RP.

That still exists, but RP in a game can still be fun.
I kind of want to have a GW2-based RPG system. I know a group was going to create one just for fun, but I haven’t really heard much from it since the initial stage. Even if one of the existing systems could be modified (D&D, Pathfinder, World of Darkness, etc.) to work in the world, I’d be happy, but I wouldn’t even know where to look for such a fan-created mod.

I remember role playing games when our fanciest prop was a cardboard box in the backyard.
ANet may give it to you.

I remember when we didn’t have boxes to use as props…we pretended to have boxes, and liked it.
Now get off my lawn you whipersnapper.
There are some sweet spots for RP in the game, mainly some areas in the world that just scream “RP here!”, and they added a really big one when they included an RP section in the LFG. And they added 3 new emotes last year.
However, RP is still one of the game’s weakest aspects, that could grow A LOT in many ways, and probably even make a very decent profit for anet by selling customized emotes, poses and such.
that it makes every other class in the game boring to play.”
