Well this was worst thing you could make with this stream, i will never come back there. Me and other playeres waited so long to hear 20 mins of bullkitten.

I cannot lie, It was pretty disappointing…

I hate to bash on them and all, but frankly it seems like they looked at their calendar yesterday and said “Oh F****, we have a ready up to do and nothing to talk about. Too late to cancel now so let’s just go waste time for a bit”

I mean really Anet? Bad form, especially during a time people are craving for any tiny bit of news on HoT.

Did anyone actually thing that they would give us a bunch of new information on a live-stream just like that?

It is rather unlikely that they would unveil something like that on a small show that most people don’t watch.

We know that they will show us stuff in the coming weeks via blogs. It is unlikely that they would change that schedule.

Yup … if it were to not say anything (besides of when actual info will be given) the stream could be postponed by another week or two and make something actually meaningful.

We know that they will show us stuff in the coming weeks via blogs. It is unlikely that they would change that schedule.

They actually do like to reveal things to us with the twitch channel, and the reveals being done on the 13th will likely be on the Ready Up stream before it is on the website. That’s how they usually do it, anyways.

What have they reveled during the Ready Up streams? The only thing that comes to mind is those single picture screenshots a few days before a teaser trailer (for content we already know is coming).

The reason they will tell us stuff on the 13th is most likely because by then we would already have had at least one deep dive, which they can then talk about.
It is unlikely that they will give us a bunch of completely new information.

the woes of PR. but hey, we know that during the WTS (you know, the thing they said they’d talk about) we’ll be getting some glimpses of the stronghold game mode. they also explained that the specialization stuff and the revenant won’t be featured in the ready up episodes because they’re not an “exclusive PvP feature”, though they will be available on PvP (obviously). we also learned from the stream that ready up will start covering expansion stuff next episode, feb. 13, which implies we’ll start seeing blogs before that.

so to sum it up:

• reminder that WTS qualifier is next week
• announcement that new game mode will be teased multiple times throughout the WTS qualifier
• explanation about how future ready ups will treat expansion discussion
• confirmation to the very skeptical that yes, you can play PvP with the new stuff (there’s a thread on page 1 of this forum about that)
• expected week we can start seeing expansion blogs on site (the shows rarely talk about subjects before we see them on site or in-game, and when they do, the site/game gets updated shortly after)

if people stopped whining so much, they would have noticed that it wasn’t so information-deprived.

Guess a huge part of the player base seeks knowledge about the PvE HoT, not PvP.

I myself do not care about capture the stronghold. Nor matches in PvP. I play WvW and PvE. I do not care about the E-Sports trip they are having in their heads. I do not care.

I’m laughing right now because this is the result of their “don’t say anything” new rule. And why say anything right? because that’ll just mean you’ll actually have to deliver on it, just release vague videos where there’s a hint of something here that people can speculate on but no one really mentioned, and oh we’ll just have a couple of people gabbing about pizza or something. Yeah that’ll work right? ….

x), I guess I wasn’t the only one that thought this ready up ep was waste of resources for everyone involved (us too). Februari 13 first pvp stronghold footage was the only noteworthy thing but not enough to warrant a Ready up ep. A tweet would have been enough.

see my large post in this thread. we actually did get some HoT information. not direct info, but information on when we can expect more.

i’m sorry to all you people that got all hyped up for nothing, but this is par for the course on ANet livestreams. if they want to talk about something, they’ll be very, very clear about it. they’d have said something like “we’ll go into details on the impact HoT will have on the PvP landscape” if they wanted to talk about it. they also rarely, if ever, talk new stuff before a blog post about that stuff is posted. since they didn’t start posting HoT blogs, there was no reason to expect that ready up would have that information.

they did a completely unanounced teaser that was so vague no one figured out what it meant until it came out. it was a balance preview episode IIRC.

ReadyUp is just a boring circlejerk for pvp people. I doubt any of the actual good pvp players pay attention to it, because it never covers useful info or compelling discussion. It’s just talking heads like those after-game football shows. ReadyUp used to be good when it covered upcoming patch info, but they so rarely do that I have stopped bothering to tune in.

Similarly, Points of Interest is a useless non-show where they talk about non-information regarding pve. Nothing new is ever revealed there. They only regurgitate announcements made a week prior, and discussions are usually about how cute the latest gem store minipet is.
