Here is the grind involved for just one insignia (see attachment). You must make 6 of them.

Then will come the weapons.

Pffft really? First of all you’re leaving out the weaving threads. Second, the recipes are rare because few people have gotten them to drop yet. Stuff like this will stabilize after a while once more people get used to the game.

At least you don’t have to get new gear every few months like you do in some games.

I encourage you all to continue to say that it’s normal and/or nothing to help me make my point.

It’s just too soon to tell what various ingredients will stabilize to. As far as the huge number of items required, well, ascended gear is the tippy top of the gear so ya there’s gonna be grind. It’s a major material sink in the economy.

I’ve never felt the need to craft any Ascended armor for its tiny stat boost. So tiny that using food gives you way more. Ascended armor, outside of high level fractals, is for those who like to chase essentially meaningless stuff.

Be careful what you ask for
ANet may give it to you.

Its ascended, it was exactly the same when ascended armor was introduced, most of them mats will drop in the new maps just as you play them, its only a super grind if you want the new armor in a week.

. . . but this isn’t news, and it’s not solely related to HoT. Ascended is one of the worse parts of the game, because it’s practically unnecessary for play outside of Fractals. But everyone wants to pick on it, due to the workload.

Should have been handled better.

Now, if you had decided to go for a different fruit, like the prerequisites for starting the “Flameseeker Prophecies I” collection? I’d be less miffed.

. . . also acceptable? A 15 second gif/vine of pocket raptors.

This is for ascended equipment. Have you made any OTHER ascended equipment? Because this is the same as it has always been.

You also neglect to mention the ascended equipment is Best In Slot for the rest of the future of the game.

You’re point being there is alot of things needed to make BiS gear? Why would any reasonable person expect anything else?

I also encourage anyone wanting to buy HoT to understand that this gear is not necessary to play 99% of the game either, including HoT.

Remember, this is top tier stuff you are talking about. Did you expect to just pick it up @ the shop ?

All asc stuff works like this, and after you make it you can use it on all chars and change the stats on it fairly easy. That’s worth some effort in my opinion.
