Hey! It’s obvious that you have some neat tech going on with Beta characters to allow them to have a separate account. However, there was an issue I ran into last BWE due to that separate account being shared by all beta characters, and that’s the supply of Transmutation Charges. My suggestion is to give beta characters UNLIMITE:D Transmutation Charges so that you’re free to make all of your horrific experiments look just the way you want them to for the brief time you have with them. This is purely an aesthetic upgrade. Also, can we get access to the unique elite spec weapon skins/armor skins on beta characters used for said elite specs? Thank you for reading this through, and here’s to hoping my Herald and my Daredevil won’t be stuck with the pearl skins!

Although you don’t get unlimited charges, they are not taken from your account either. so just aqcuire a bunch. you will get them back and you will be able to spend them on better looks later on

They already gave us away to get the charges fast and it’s called making it so we only have hero points to grab really in map completing. I mean the second you’re on a beta toon you have 75% of the map completed. I think it was just the hero points missing and that’s not hard to run and grab really fast on 10 maps if you have two weapons on each swap and 6 pieces of armor that is (excluding the back item, 11 maps including) and you can do this on each toon. Yeah, it’s a little more work and, yeah, it could be inconvenient, but each map gives us 1 charge and the cities you just have to port into and poof 1 charge and that’s 6 charges in your hands just by visiting the cities alone (an entire gear set minus the back item and the weapons there). So I seriously doubt we have the unlimited charges on a beta character.

Isn’t the point of the beta to test the new specializations and content rather than aesthetics?

I know that you get all your stuff back. I was just saying that on your beta characters you might not have enough transmutation charges to customize all of them the way you want. If every beta character had an independent account instead of a shared one the ‘running dry on transmutation’ problem would also be fixed, although not as much as if we had no restrictions on character customization for these temporary ones.

Yeah, but for the purposes of filming for youtube and personal enjoyment it’s just nice to be able to make your characters look cool too.

I stated this before here. What’s the problem with just jumping from one city to the next? you get 6 free charges per toon that way. Delete the toons you don’t want and redo. It would take an hour, if that, to gather as enough for 2 toons.

True. I’d just re-roll characters and collect the map completion chest from the cities which are already completed.

But… time. I have one weekend, and I’d rather be spending it testing out my stylish character in the high points of the game than going around getting map completion.

It takes an hour max to get enough for two toons. You’re saying that is too much time to spend out of your day to collect those charges so your toon looks the way you want? Anet already gave us “free” charges through this means. It was no doubt an easier way to do it on their end.

Note: throw away characters you can just race through to the end with their character creation, then map travel through pvp to LA and tada you have a fast means to move from one city to the next to get those 6 charges then delete that beta toon and repeat.

All you have to do is zone into each city. The map completion chest will automatically pop up. With six cities, you’ll have enough to change your armor pieces. You’ll have to do it one more time if you want to change the back item’s appearance.

You can also open those chests in HoT and have the experience go towards your mastery tracks. Before others think this is an issue, we won’t be able to infinitely re-roll instant level 80 characters with the city maps completed when HoT goes live.

Oh cool, I didn’t realize we could hop to VB to open them. Clever. Do they stack six of them or do you need to go back and forth?

It’s more idle curiosity for me as I still have over 70 charges left on my beta account, more if anything gets re-copied over. Though that mastery xp boost, yum. Except ANet wants feedback on how it feels to progress mastery tracks and if I cheese it to do it fast I can’t give them a good response.

The most I attempted was three but you can probably do more. If you’re using them to progress masteries, don’t forget about Chantry of Secrets. I did it last beta because the two meta event chains kept getting stalled. Based on what I saw though, when events did work, they seemed to progress reasonably.
