The following are my general experience in BWE1:

Shiro Voiceover

The voice for Shiro is awesome but when switching to him as a human he says, “I have returned to fight at your side.” I guess 250 years of torture made him nice? Or he’s probably just happy to do something else than be tortured. What I’m really saying is, I would expect character to say something like…“I have RETURNED!!!!!”. He said a similar line when being resurrected in GW1. It would be a great throwback to have him use the same or similar line.

Story Mode Thoughts

My female Norn’s voice when Braham ran away was very calm. Almost like, no big deal he’s just running into enemy territory. While my male and female human, were very upset and was talking very forcefully to Braham about his actions. I’m not sure the Norn are suppose to act relaxed or not.
Laranthir of the Wild first voice over does not play (when you first meet him).
Thought we had to fight he worm in story mode when it appears in the first story instance cinema but could not find it anywhere.

Verdant Brink Pocket Raptors

I like how the Pocket Raptors are actually dangerous, earlier I would just run by them.

Stronghold Overtime Thoughts
========
Stronghold is very fun now, thanks! However, I don’t fully understand the conditions for the overtime mechanic to occur. It would be helpful there was a pop up window at the start of the match that explained this. Like the same window that appears during Conquest matches.

Tempest
=====
Ele Torch
Cyclone Air – Pull range is very limited (180 range), like magnetic earth shield. Would be nice if the range was 240.

Mastery System
===
The explanation on how to use mastery points is a lot better than the closed betas, imo. After completing one track, I realized its just like the PvP Rewards Track system.

Loved all the PC voices, except female norn.
Female norn are ascetically my favourite but I’ve always been substantially disappointed with her voice actor who permanently sounds bored.
I had high hopes for her voice work in HoT, I thought “yeah hopefully Anet had time to redirect her performance this time?”
Oh, how wrong was I?
She’s somehow gotten worse and I am not really sure.
I cannot describe how low my voice dropped when the Braham thing happened and she said her lines as if it was nothing.
The female charr is amazing but my days, what the heck is wrong with the female norn?! She’s literally terrible.
There is no point playing a blame game but her dialogue needs to be revoiced if possible (obviously by her).
All the other PCs sound really great and emotionally involved…she sounds like just reading off the page and not that interested.

I agree about the Female Norn sounding completely bored in the story, I have no idea if the Male Norn sounds the same.

Shiro doesn’t sound nice to me. He doesn’t insult you or make great boasts, but he has that tone of contempt and a couple lines where he makes demands (such as releasing him). The way he talks makes it sound like he feels insulted by this. I haven’t played GW1, but I think I like how he acts now.

Hmmm, I played as a female Norm and felt it was ok, maybe I need to hear the other to see the difference or maybe hear it again now.

Hmm, Norn…known hunters and are prone to just rush headlong into danger without thinking…I’d almost think it was normal for them to rush ahead like Braham did, do it wouldn’t be something that would register as urgent to a Norn Pact Commander, whether female or male…at least that’s how I’d see it, but then I’ll have to hear myself to really decide.

The missing question is…what did you think of Mordremoths voice, or did you not notice it?

I loved it! It made me want to play through on my slyvari ele first time instead of my human. Although on that note Jenifer Hale’s voice acting is a little off or something… It just sounds bad and I don’t know why.

Yeah, I’m thinking female norn were like…I have to pretend to act concern since I’m the Pact Commander but really I’m ok with him running ahead. lol
