Beta Problems
I am fairly sure the main reason for lack of dps is that the rev isn’t finished, nor tuned. And of course, dps would most likely have been better if Shiro-legend had been ready in this Beta. K
Like many others, I’ve found myself disappointed with the low dps levels on Revenant, and I think it mainly stems from the lack of synergy in its traits, which is understandable considering it has very limited utilities. However, the most synergy I’ve seen so far is the synergy based on fury, which only ups the crit chance. It would be much more effective if there were some nice benefits we got from the crits themselves. I also believe there might be some synergy in terms of conditions, but the Demon stance itself feels very clunky and underwhelming.
My analogy for how the revenant feels right now, is that it’s like slapping someone slowly with a soggy fish.
In terms of stronghold, I found it to also be very underwhelming, with the map feeling vast, and sparse. Fights are quite often one sided, with defenders having few to no tools at their disposal. Matches themselves are very quick and are usually a simple zerg fest. The mist champions, while good in idea, are tanky and hard to take care of if you’re fighting 1v3, which happens quite a lot since the map is so long. I would suggest some type of fast travel backwards only to be available, as well as, say, more defending siege like arrow carts. I would also suggest making the map into a 10v10, to give it A) a more epic feel a longer match time and C) more even fights.
Finally, I’d like to appreciate the terrific artwork that went into Revenant skills. Because if I’m going to be slapping someone with a soggy fish (slowly) I’d like for the fish to at least be pretty.
