As ive been playing this beta, i thought i wuld post my thoughts as i did on the last one also~
Verdant brink/masteries/beginning story: the defend amber sandfall was the worst part of this by far, the 5 times i went through it was beyond hoarded by mordrem and i passed it simply by reviving the lord over and over, because there was no other players around to help with it, it needs to be slightly toned down so it is still very difficult but not impossible for one player to do, after that the rest of the story was very good for the slice we saw and the map was very good also, enemies are finally difficult although i wish more of the map was accessible, because there was many large spaces and other areas where it was inaccessible, and it was quite a bit of the map and i hope more will become accessible. Masteries were pretty cool, i only got gliding and bouncing mushrooms done in the time but i do wish it would take a bit longer to do, and it confused me for a while of how i unlock masteries when i first started in verdant brink, and in verdant brink every few minutes i would get huge brown things covering my screen, they looked like massive low res vines although i could walk right through, and most of the events in verdant brink were very bugged to the point they couldnt complete
Revenant: the revenant is still very lacking, it is better than it was before but i still have trouble matching the dps of my power/tank guardian when runnin full glass on the revenant, the shiro legend is not very good still as 2 of the skills are utility, they are good utility but it would be nice to be able to opt out of taking one, the quickness skill is very good and a well balanced skill, and same with jade winds although i found the general opinion of the heal was complete trash. Swords werr alright, but overall with revenant it all needs a dps boost and a better way to tank damage although healing with ventari is far better than healing with any other class
Specializations: the reaper was very cool to see, i really liked my time in the reaper although with its damage on chill i feel the chill needs to do more damage. Chronomancer was very cool, wells were good but the sheild was kind of meh, and the 5th shatter was very cool. Tempest… i really dont see the point of the tempest, it is giving ele yet another support option when it has plenty others although the shouts except the air shout were pretty good, and dragonhunter, the traps are meh, and auto attack on longbow is pretty bad and i feel the skill 5 needs to do a bit more dps but longbow was good.
Stronghold: stronghold is great, the legends are cool, but as soon as the revenant was in spvp, well all weekend all i saw was revenants on doing well against other revenants, and getting completely stomped by every other class every single time, even myself and 2 other revenants were unable to kill a guardian that labled himself as alright, and in another fight a warrior that said he was bad, both 3v1’s and the revenants lost all
There was my impressions of this BWE, ive always been told by devs in every game to when theres a beta, say whats wrong in it so the devs can fix it, so theres what i thought of this BWE in the many many hours that i sat infront of my computer this weekend, and the general opinion that i gather from many people in verdant brink and spvp, although no wvw but overall, good and very cool beta weekend
