The beta test makes things very limited for everyone. In case you didn’t notice the Revenant isn’t even fully completed. What krall said was not wrong, (maybe a little out of touch buddy with the way it came across lol) but this is a stress test. Don’t expect everything to be on par

No seriously, it’s pretty questionable to let players create rangers if they cannot have pet swap available to them. Without pet swap, your pet will die, and there’s basically nothing you can do about it short of leaving combat completely for ~15 seconds, which isn’t plausible in most of the defense events. And once your pet is gone, that’s a significant chunk of your character missing.

It’s Rangers. They don’t care. lol.

They expected everyone to rush in and make the game Revenant Online.

I haven’t run into to many situations where losing my pet was critical, but if this is a stress test, it removes some of said stress (calculations involved with pet dps, pet defense, pet attacks/conditions, etc.).

Best bet is to roll a Rev. That’s what they expected everyone to do.

It would only be questionable if the goal of the beta was to test rangers, or some ranger functionality associated with pet swapping.

I understand why they did it (since you go straight from character creation), but I wish they’d thrown a few couple juvenile devourers or something in the area near where you start.

played beta with one pet, didn’t have a problem. i think this is a l2p issue ;P (sarcasm if it wasn’t obvious enough)

but seriously, it wasn’t that big of a deal. barely even noticed, since most of the events were pretty easy, i had lots of survivability with cele, and after the first hour i was mostly exploring.

You won’t get an answer from anyone qualified to give one. further…it is against the forum rules to ask for it. So you either have to stick with the answers we are giving (and show a lil bit of gratitude or atleast respect that people take time to answer you), or don’t ask questions at all.

The correct term for this Beta is usability testing. a full definition can be found in this link. The product shown is neither a full product or a finished product. There is likely a very good reason why the ranger was only allowed one pet. My best bet would be that it has to do with the changes they are making to the ranger. As we didn’t have a ranger reveal yet, you will not get any official answer either. That won’t happen before that reveal (and the reveal is done when they are ready to do so).
Don’t asume from this either that the ranger will loose the abillity to use two pets. The reason is simply that in the beta they had to replace the new functionality with something more familiar. As it is just for a beta, why bother with two pets.

To figure out how long it might take before you get an answer from a qualified person, look over this forum and the discussion forum and count the number of threads with red posts and use that in your calculation of wait time.

But clearly he’s so important that ANet will obviously take time away from whatever they’re doing to specifically address him.
