I haven’t played much HoT but I saw that the black wings is now a glider skin. Upon hovering my mouse over it, it says to visit a scout to unlock it.

I went to Verdant Brink, did a transmute of my backpack to the black wings, talked to a scout (labeled [Scout]) but it didn’t unlock the glider skin.

Is there something I’m doing wrong?

Is your backpiece showing? Not just equipped, but it needs to be showing on your character too before you talk to the scout.

Yeah it is showing. I even tried unequipping and equipping it but no luck.

Glider (Wings) =/= Backpack.

You can have any Backpiece you want and use any Glider you want. I can’t remember where but there is a tab on your hero-sheet where you select which glider you want.

You have to endure the dialogue of the scout about what’s happening in the zone (so no skipping) and then a new dialogue will pop up about the Feathered Wings backpack.
Just because, try it at the scout at the start of the zone? I know for sure that one works because I’ve gotten my own feathered gliders from there.

Talking to Mattis at Shipwreck Peak Waypoint gave me the glider.

…And the funny thing is, with your wings on, when you speak with the first scout on VB map having full inventory, he tells you – you have no required item or something like this! When in fact he just can’t give glider to you because there’s no space in the inventory!
