Guild Wars 2

I just got HoT and have been trying to get Gliding. I was in the jungle one time and I glitched so badly that I had to restart. I reloaded back in the instance but since then I haven’t been able to get into the jungle (the portal has a great big red circle-with-a-strike over it and I can’t get in through it), nor out of the instance. It’s my main character and I feel so stupid, but searching the internet hasn’t given me anything. I don’t know if I’m permaglitched out or what. Can anyone give me advice? Perhaps I’m missing something?

Have you tried to get to the jungle without being in the instance? I.e. in the normal PvE world? AFAIK you have to complete the first part of the personal story to access it. Perhaps because you glitched, you may need to redo that part of things

Yeah, it seems you are in the initial HoT story instance, while being on the next step already. Just waypoint out of instance to any other map (if you have trouble with this for some reason, go pvp or wvw, then use the LA portal), then waypoint back to SW and walk through the portal to Verdant Brink normally.

It’s possible you have VB waypoint unlocked already, in which case you will be able to waypoint straight there without needing to walk through SW again

If all else fails, open your story journal, select the episode you’re on and click the ‘Quit this episode’ button, then click the button again to restart it. You’ll lose a bit of progress, but only for the episode you were on.

Excluding the Prologue (episode 1), you can actually replay the HoT episodes. I don’t remember if you can drop episode 1 though. If you’re stuck on the prologue episode, you can try out other suggestions here, or worst case scenario, contact customer support.
