Hello, i wanted to give gw2 another go, so i bought the expansion, expecting me to be able to play the new class.

but in character selection, the profession is greyed out.

I checked my account information and tried to activate my cd-key and did just that, rebooted the client and tried making a new game, still wont show. Just for the heck of it, i rebooted the pc, still no change. in my email, i got both the mail with the cd-key and the payment information.

Is there something i miss completely on how to activate this expansion?

Keep in mind, i think my highest character ever is around 12, so i have little experience with this platform

Just curious, have anyone experienced delay on their activation of their account after purchase?

Have only heard of delay in gems, never in actual account.

My purchase of HoT in December, and the subsequent linking of the key to my existing account, opened that content to me immediately.

They do not. Response time on tickets is usually quick, unless something hit the fan. It’s rare that people have to wait more than a few days.

Stupid question, but have you restarted the client?

I bought it and couldn’t acces anything until I exit the game and started it up again.

I’ll add another stupid question: Did you link your HoT key to your current account, or make a new account with it? To upgrade an existing account you need to select the correct option in registering the key.
