Are there any people like me that are so excited for the expansion, that they don’t want to see anything? Seeing the revenants first release was enough to make me satisfied that Anet will do a great job!

Sort of. I’m not going out of my way to get all the info as its released but I don’t stop reading anything that contains stuff I didn’t know before. The expansion looks to be pretty interesting.

Actually…no, I absorb as much information as possible and I hope I get selected for one of the closed Betas then plan on doing the Open Beta…nothing like being prepared for release.

I’m actively avoiding betas but just as actively pursue news.

Betas are the death of joy.

Kinda thinking the same thing. It’s like staying off of fb whenever a good movie or the newest episode of a tv show airs. Why let spoilers ruin it when we can just show up and be look…cool!

I am also boycotting… I don’t know how I’m gonna survive all those specialization revelations and stuff… it will just spoil all the surprise. I didn’t even watch the PAX, Rezz Streams because I didn’t want to see more. All these spoilers ruins my element of surprise because then I already know what to do where to go which is wrong. I’m waiting for my Closed/Open Beta invite to experience it on my own. Winks at ANet

That’s your prerogative, but when mats are 100x more expensive then you can afford, and groups won’t let you play with them because you have no idea what you are doing, don’t come complaining on the forums. We did the research and put in the time to buy what we needed beforehand and learn the encounters for smooth runs, so it’s not our fault you are left behind.

Your best bet is to learn all you can about the open world content and don’t look at anything story related, that way you get to see the story at release but you aren’t stuck having no idea what to do or where to go.

I don’t see how anyone can be left behind in a game. There are always new players incoming and there will always be people who are “left behind”. To tell you the truth, I preferred much more Arah runs withing 6 months of the release when everyone was working together then these so-called Speed Clears. We all enjoyed the thrill of completing Arah (not to mention getting the Dungeon title). THAT type of experience I’m aiming for again in HoT!

And trust me, I won’t be “left behind”. In fact I will probably stay longer playing the game since I took the time to read though the story line, talk to NPC to see what’s the fuss about, and I won’t be easily bored as someone who rushed through the content thinking the end-game will provide them huge advantage over other players. This is not THAT type of game. So your statement is faulty, as mildly I could’ve put it.

the only thing I don’t want to know much about is the lore, that I want to experience for myself first hand, but I am trying to get the rest of the infos, like about the new WvW maps, the new PvP mode and the specializationstuff ^^

After watching videos of the same area over and over again, I´m almost burned out on it already.
Same for the new borderlands map. Just saw the presentation and that´s it, no more spoilerz for me.

I’m boycotting HoT until I hear word of dueling. I’m excited for revenant, but I’m not excited to pay money for the opportunity to get ganked in wvw on a new class.

I just hope the beta testers actually do a good job. The first couple months of GW2 release...never forget. The mountains of stuff to fix because testers were only concerned with being amazed at the environment vs testing.

I think i changed my mind at beta testing. I like the first dayexcitement of players working together because no one knows what to do. Once people figure stuff out, its rare to see map wide teamwork/assistance.

Not actively boycotting ANet information, but I am sick of the speculation threads and stopped reading them a long time ago.

I’ll do it the same way I did Guild Wars. I beta tested it and got a taste for a small amount of the area I was playing in. I also got a taste for how I wanted to play my main. Then I played the actual game and did the personal story. I didn’t get spoiled for anything and also came into the game knowing how to play it.
