Guild Wars 2

Hello fellow GW2 players,
I’m very new to GW2 and hence want a few tips regarding if what I’ll be spending on – good or not needed. In short I bought the Heart of Thorns Digital Deluxe Expansion pack. I logged into the game and now I can see the GW2- Digital Deluxe Edition worth 2k gems. Is it worth getting that item? If I do get it for example, what extras come along with it? And also is that expansion for each one of my characters or is it single character bound?

Same goes with Living World Expansion. The gem shop says 1 more can be bought at same cost. Does this mean it is only available per character and I have to rebuy it for every character? Also is it worth it and what extras do I get? Also I’ve not put much research into in but how do I acquire the Season 1 and Season 3 of Living World Expansions, since only Season 2 is available in the Gem shop

Upgrades are account-wide; no need to purchase for each character.

You can not purchase Living World Season One as it was not permanent content. If you do not see Episode One of Living World Season 3 in the Gem Store, you may have already unlocked it for your account (I’m not sure, exactly, how new you are). Episode 2 is active now, so is automatically unlocked, and Episode 3 (and all further Episodes) has yet to be released.

Purchasing Living World Season Two unlocks more story and rewards. You can purchase Living World Episodes/Bundles with Gems and Gems can be acquired in-game through the Gold-to-Gem exchange, if desired.

I would not worry too much about Living World or Heart of Thorns stories until playing in Core Tyria for some time. Take your time learning the game and discovering all that Tyria has to offer. It’s only new once. =)
