Yea, title says it all. I really want a class that has viable sword/shield pve skills, because guardian and warrior’s s/s combo is really situational.

the mushrooms can probably use swords as per the trailer.

How about chronomancers? They can also use sword and shield. Probably not what you had in mind though.

The revenant can indeed use sword and shield, here are datamined skills: http://i.imgur.com/SjX7u2A.png. Those could all have changed radically in the mean time though.

you got the old skills Diovid, it has been updated, and Sword MH is more a power-based weapon (thank God, I was tired of the stupid Sword=Condition only philosophy).
In my case, I just hope to get a power Sword offhand to dual wield, but since they use axe offhand I guess mace & sword offhand will come in time too.

Yes Revenant can use Sword and Shield.

You’re aware that Thieves/Mesmers/Guardians have a power based MH sword right ?
And that the only condition based one is on war.

Of the 5 professions that can use swords, only one of them deals condition damage with it. Hell, among non-warrior sword skills, there is only 1 sword skill that even inflicts a damaging condition (Serpent Strike), and that’s mostly useful for the dodge.

You said it, one, and with a 15 sec CD, good luck doing decent dps with that. Even when used with Rip.

Any one of those weapons could also be part of the Revenants specialization instead of the base class.
