Can't do anything with my beta slot?

I have the stone, and the beta slot, but never got an E-mail.
Whenever I click the beta character slot all the buttons grey out and i can’t do anything. I can play or create with my other characters and slots just fine.
Is this a glitch? Did I just miss out on something?
Might just be because beta’s not active right now. I think the next session starts in 15 minutes…
Oh, it’s in sessions? I guess that E-mail really would’ve helped =\
