In theory, it works. The 10, 20, and 30 story step achieves for each race give a point. However, from what I am told, the point gain is bugged for those. I only have them because I did them prior to HoT.

Anyone knows anything about this?

I see. Well I just made a new race and completed the level 10 story quest chain, didn’t get the mastery. I see on the wiki that I was supposed to get a mastery there too.

Is ArenaNet aware of this glitch? To anyone who submitted a ticket regarding losing mastery points to this, were you successful on claiming your lost mastery points?

Some achievements also give mastery points.

Go to your achievements panel. The red starburst is notation for Tyria mastery points. If there are achievements for Tyria mastery for finishing Story Missions for the first time, and there is a notation with the red star burst on it- then yes.

If you already have these achieves, then you won’t get mastery points for them again because they were retroactively credited to your account.

I don’t think the Tyria PS gives repeated mastery points. They seem to be somewhat scarce in Tyria compared to HoT if you don’t like fractals or don’t run dungeons also. I have every class with Tyria Map Completion and when HoT launced I only got 28 points to spend.

AP to me has been an indicator of how much time a person spent doing stuff they HAD to do instead of stuff they WANTED to do for fun. Now it looks like Mastery points are going to follow suit.

Have you played with a friend who played that race before and got the achievement for completing the associated mission? Yes, the wiki needs to clarify- but check your achievements. If you don’t have the achievement at all- then its on anet’s end to fix a bug or clarify their intent.

I’ve never entered another person’s story quest nor vice versa. I just checked and I have the achievement. It even shows that I’m supposed to be rewarded a mastery point for that, yet I didn’t get it.

Anet needs to fix this.

The Tyria mastery points does seem to be bugged for some. I am personally lacking 14 points from things like personal stories, being full member of an order and others.
I have bug reported it, and I hope Anet is aware of the problem.
