Hi, I’m sure many of you haven’t really heard about us but I run the guild TDMS, which was formed due to people getting tired of pugging Chak Gerent. While yes before the scaling was a bit of a problem with Gerent due to it being tricky to get the numbers right just in case pugs decided to randomly join in a lane, but that kinda added to some of the fun. I mean we all enjoyed the chance at a failure, even though we had roughly a 85% success rate so we didn’t fail much, but now due to the changes it has become way to easy where we actually get bored due to us having it dead by p2 on all lanes and sometimes almost killing it in p1 in some lanes!

So what I wanted to say was that, I know this might never happen, there should be some form of a challenge mote for those of us that want it be hard again with some better rewards, so that way you can keep it how it is now for pugs who want to finish their collection and offer better rewards for those who want it hard. It could be along the lines that in challenge mote Gerent has access to all of his abilities in a perma-broken bar phase with some form of a shield phase where you have to kill 2 adds while still having the same amount of time between burrowed phases. This would add the challenge that only a coordinated map can accomplish instead of one that was formed 20 min before it spawned. Like I said, I know the likely hood of this happening is very low but I’m interested on hearing what other people think of something along the lines of a challenge mote being implemented.

If you want hard contents, please just go do raids or Extreme mode from Story mode.

Let’s be honest, no-one enjoys random failure after 2 hours of preparation.

It’s better than hardcore Meta that 99% of the community ignore. (TT rings the bell)

Too bad HoT only has 4 maps, so if you make 1 map’s Meta undoable, it’d take 25% of the content away, which is not smart at all.

^ This. I always have to shake my head a little at people demanding tougher content. If something’s too easy for you, there are lots of ways you can handicap yourself to make it tougher. Fight Lupicus naked. Play Ranked without using any of your utility slots or elite skill. Do the raid with 5 people. These, I feel, demonstrate your “skill” far better than a designed encounter that’s been built with a specific solution (whether through tactics or gear) in mind. Break the box by designing your own solution. THAT’S the true mark of a Master.

If you want challenge so bad, go raid. That’s what it’s there for.

Or you know, there could be some somewhat challenging content in the open world and leave the really challenging content to riads.
The individual fight/meta is not that hard. The only part thats challenging is the community. They need to learn what to do and use different stat sets (and actually put some effort in, instead of just spamming 1 like all other world bosses).

The problem is, people either need patient instruction in map chat (which is slow and cumbersome) OR they need to do some research outside the game in order to “learn what to do”. Few, if any, casual players want to bother with trying to find an accurate, half-decent guide to the new metas. It would be like studying or, you know, work.

They don’t even need good gearsets. They literally need to avoid purple and attack. if all in lane does this, it will win, no matter the numbers, before patch. Now, if you are failing, you can literally zerg a lane. Silly.

Gerent had multiple unintended issues. There’s no harm in having open world content accessible to open world players. If you want a challenge, seek meaningfully challenging content or play outside of your comfort zone.

I really, really, really hoped they have borked the scaling and everyone is just getting gerants aimed at lower numbers of players now. Last night we saw 40 people rush a lane at 60 % in last burn and finish with over 1 minute left on the clock. That should not happen.

There is “casual” stuff gated behind this meta and the difficulty did not fit into the game at all. It was a lot harder than the actual endboss.
If they want to do challenging open world events, then they should simply make them independend, like Triple Trouble. Oh, no one likes to play Triple Trouble? Too bad.

If you want a challenge, go for raids.
