Chak Gerent a bit too weak now?
Really? It would be awesome to be able to win it most of the time!
I really thought it was good before. Since the spore mechanic on Nuhoch lane was fixed I didn’t have any issues with this meta. It was 50/50. Half of the time we beat it, other half we didn’t. But I was okay with that since people are still learning the fight.
Would be sad to see it nerfed. The game needs more challenging content. Even raids (with Eternal) are too easy.
They probably wanted more than about 1 map to try it per 2 hours. Very few people were even attempting it, which is a giant waste of a map.
I think a better fix to that would be making the event occur more frequently rather than nerfing the difficulty.

+1
There’s an hour of downtime in TD between events and basically no rewards to be had if you have max mastery.
Long overdue, it was scaled wildly out of whack with the other meta events in HOT.

It needed to be fixed. Glad to see it happen.

No, the game doesn’t need more challenging content, it needs more FUN content. Challenge =/= fun
Glad to see this in action. Was simply not fun to spend all the time waiting for event repeatedly with little chance of success. I’ve been avoiding this meta for a while since finally winning once a ways back. Other events were more enjoyable and rewarding for time involved for open world stuff.

Too easy, huh? The content that was supposed to make players use every aspect of the game’s mechanics, that was supposed to be a lot “harder than we’ve seen before” is now easy? I wondered how long this kind of comment would take to surface. I still maintain that challenge in PvE content never lasts. If you want challenge, fight players.

This.
Open world doesn’t need to be super hardcore, just relaxing and fun. For everyone.
Similarly, organisational nightmares aren’t fun for all due to open world being suspects me to trolls.
Glad to see people will do this now!

Thats just your own opinion. For some people the challenge is the fun part. I for one enjoyed it the way it was (after the nuhoch fix, before that it was a bit too much). It wasn’t a guaranteed win, but it was close (with a coordinated group). Now if what op and other say is true, it’ll be just as easy as DS

well…last week i have done 4 DS’ and 2 failed at towers…dont ask me how…so i guess the avg player is still ont good enough

There’s nothing wrong with having challenging content in the open world. And I don’t ramen challenging and the level as raids. The TD meta was not all that difficult to do and pugs were starting to get the hang of it. Now a lot of the fun from doing it is gone as it’s another one of those where you can faceroll through it.
Gerent is now fun open world content, thank you Anet.
Let’s be realistic, no matter how the devs try to find the right balance this content is going to be too easy or too difficult for some players.
As it stands, there’s far more people who can appreciate ‘faceroll’ than ‘facemelting’ difficulty.
The former guarantees multiple successful maps, and a good time by most (Silverwastes, for example). The latter usually results in everyone struggling to get into one or two organized instances, and abandoning a map at the slightest hiccup. Not to mention frequent bickering, trolling and rage. The satisfaction gained from beating the odds doesn’t really make up for the other crap, imo.
Its really horrible now , zerg fest walkover. I really enjoyed teaching people the map and the boss and getting people their kills in the last 3 weeks. Oh well. At least I have my 1000+ sparks and don’t need to go back now.
oh serious now? just shut it. first “it’s too hard, tone it down”, now “it’s too easy” when they answer the demand. There’s something called Raid if people want to try something challenging. DS was tough, virtually impossble, at first, now people learning it and it rarely failed. If DS rarely fails, why TD should be any more challenging. TD was extremely tough and you really have to have organized guild people doing it with a good map to finish it, thus people generally never bother spending time.
it means THEY got me for " neg criticism in clever disguise".
Know that it has been fun and I love ya all.

There is a reason I have gained over 300 people in follow list in last few weeks running TD. It’s not hard, just no one explains it, when people explained, people started enjoying. You don’t need ts, you don’t need zerk, you just didn’t need to afk play the boss. Now it is literally a by the numbers affair. This is bad. I blame mistward armour :p
ANd for all you people complaining, as 1 comm, no guild, no ts, I have been running and organizing and built up a nice community in the last few weeks – maybe you should complain about the bad lazy comms open world and not engaging content. Half of them tag and do nothing.
Followers still exist. The TD meta is now accessible to more players. Everybody wins.
Well, i really liked the place it was before yesterday…as a commander withing GW2Community I had GREAT fun in doing it. But i also look at the fact that TD currency (needed for Acid to open the map chests and get Leyline sparks, and also for the legendary gifts) is seriously scarce confronted to AB or VB, making it unbalanced to farm.
At least now is consistent with other metas…and god knows how much we need some serious consistency in GW2

I’m a bit conflicted about the update myself.
On the one hand, I enjoyed the thrill of the difficulty. A successful run truly felt like an achievement. It wasn’t impossible by any stretch. you just needed everybody on the same page. The “high DPS, pay attention” page. but once you got that organization together, it was beautiful.
On the other hand, my complaint is in essence that more people get to do the event successfully and more frequently. There’s nothing inherently wrong with that. I’ve been on enough pug runs to know that getting a successful kill out of randoms was incredibly tough, and now more people get to do it.
The real question I have is this: It that O.K.? My general experience with randoms is that they are hard because they are undergeared, poorly built, and don’t listen. I’ve been lobbying for a general increase in difficulty because faceroll easy is boring and doesn’t hold interest. King of the Jungle was one of those events. You had to try to beat it.
Meh … was there any actual changes to fight mechanics? If it is just a change to the magnitude of numbers then it isn’t any better or worse.
Considering it doesn’t drop ascended like Tequatl or Wurm, it should be easier. If it’s not gonna give epic loot then it doesn’t deserve to be hard.

Different players who are complaining before and now. The TD meta event was the only fun part of the 4 new maps. The other map meta events felt way too easy and rewarding.
Oh, it’s weaker now? Okay. Still don’t really care.
They nerfed it? And they fixed the lane achievement bug? Good. Now I’ll try again.

Lane Achievements are still bugged as of today. Despite the patch notes claiming they were fixed.
+ the chest is also even more buggy, and nuhoch event chain seems wors ethan before. gg

Guys, it isn’t about whether I want to be challenged. It is about whether this event should be challenging or not.

Bring 11 players to try the gerent.

It’s impossible to do it with that many. Some people like to do challenging metas with large groups of players (50+). I can also use that statement and suggest if you don’t like challenging content then to bring more people. If you have the max amount then bring more skilled players. I’m pretty sure that last one was going to be your response when I said 11 players wasn’t possible.

Then bring 12 or whatever it is doable and challenging, take out ur gear as well.
You can’t bring more skilled players, open world map doesn’t work that way.

Yeah you can. Instead of having unskilled players (not trying to offend) when you fill the map, you bring skilled ones.

Slowpoke they’re pretty much saying bring in your friends/guild and do it with as few people as possible.

Did you read the patch notes?
Fixed an issue that was causing the chak gerents to scale too aggressively when players joined their lanes.
In this case bringing more players would likely have had the opposite effect …
funny its easy now but still nobody doing it.

Was referring to the map itself and not just flooding a lane with people.

Triple Trouble Wurm is in Bloodtide Coast waiting for them. Or WvW…overcoming the sheer horridness of that mode is a challenge in and of itself, haha.

You guys are really missing the point here. I think we can all agree that a good challenge is fun, but the problem was that Gerent wasn’t challenging. It just had a ridiculous amount of health, requiring everyone in the event to be full-on DPS, and counter-intuitively avoid using CC just to maximize burn time.
Is it too easy now? Maybe. But now anybody can participate, even if they don’t run DPS builds, and it will still be possible to win, as long as nobody screws up the lane mechanics, and you don’t have entire groups wiping to the jelly donut.
