We’re almost 2 months after launch, and the Nuhoch Lane is still bugged. Just not enough spores + mushroom mobs spawn to satisfy the spore requirement.

There either needs to be an increase in the spores spawn rate or time limit, or a decrease to the amount of spores required. One of the three, because currently, way too many groups fail. I have met a single player since HoT has launched that has beaten this event.

The difficulty of the event is substantial, to the point where it can be done with sufficient organization, which is what I feel this game needs, but this one aspect of the event ruins the whole lot, because its effectively a coin-flip between enough spores spawning, or not.

As a commander I do get enjoyment out of this event, I regularly have attempts at this, and if im commanding Nuhoch or not, it still fails for the same reason each time: Nuhoch Spores and Mushrooms don’t spawn enough. The community as a collective is pretty much perfected in terms of the DPS, mechanics and strategies, but this one buggy aspect holds the whole thing back.

I’d also like to say that im frustrated about the fact ArenaNet is neglecting to comment on this topic, yet they’ll happily throw out blog posts and dev posts about Esports. Esports, which are only relevant to the 1%-2% of players who enter into them, whereas discussions on Gerent and other HoT content that requires attention, which effect the vast majority of players who own HoT, are being kept quiet.

Bleh.

It is meta events such as this that will keep the silent majority playing, not esports tourneys or, dare I say it raids – the privilege of a new ascended elite. WVW is basically dead, so with only one none pvp game mode left anet should really be more careful.

Nouche line is not that bad.
People just always FAIL to kill mobs near spore so Sport could respawn.

SCAR, on the other hand, have bigger issue of killing.
The cannon ALWAYS break Gerent’s bar and break his channel, WHILE not applying bonus damage to him after the bar is broken, unlike other lanses.
SCAR is by far the line that failed to kill Gerent the most.

Yup. The issues with this meta really come down to Nuhock and Scar. Nuhock has scaling issues. Scar has broken mechanics and requires so much dps that the room for error is so slim that anyone not running full dps builds hurt the lane which goes against everything else in HoT. If this map is going to survive the meta completion rate needs to come up.

It is not the players that fail to kill the spores. I see enough doing it, but the rate they spawn is way to random with a timer that is way to punishing. You can’t even reach a vulnurabilty level at nuhoch an the scaling in some lanes like scar are a bit too high.

we were able to down the chak gerent in my run with WP and his pug of twitch followers….we used squad UI to evenly split the zerg and i think each lane had 25ish people and nuhoch lane were able to burst it down by round 2….and then evenly split among the rest of the lanes(especially scar lane)

I think the biggest help is that we had a TON of ranged dps and we split the zerg into 5 man sub groups that looked like

Herald
Ele
Ranger
Warrior/Berserker
Chronomancer

so we didn’t put too much dps in one lane, or only two lanes had chronomancers while the other didn’t have a single one….or two lanes had a herald and the others didn’t have one
