I’ve been doing a lot of Heart of Thorns lately. I seem to be doing pretty well. A few nights ago I decided to try the CoF farm. I found almost instantly I loved it!

I was very, very, surprised about this.

Why did I love this? Because I and my group …we were actually talking with each other. We joked, laughed, played around with the creatures. We talked about different tactics, discussed the pros and cons of our new and old abilities. In short… we were SOCIALIZING!!!!!!!

I have played this game since launch. NEVER have I been able to STAND STILL and USE MY KEYBOARD TO TYPE!!!

NEVER.

Your game NEEDS more of this.

Please give us some more of this.

This is solely on you. If you want more socializing then be social. This game has plenty of opportunity to do it. If you dont, then it is on you for not doing so, not Anet.

Congrats, you took an absolute boring grind fest and made it sociable. You can easily do this just by hanging out in LA, but you would never do that because you aren’t doing anything to progress your character.

Yea just becouse you chose not to socialise dont mean you cant do it in game take a group and go do event chains in the new map and talk over voip for example and its just as socialising as this example you give.
Iust becosue you grind easy to kill mobs so you can actualy be semi afk just sitting there and typing dont make that a good thing for the game.

How do you text if you’re in trying to move your character.

How do you socialize if you are doing this then?

See… use of that brain thing in your head instead of that pathed-aggression-mechanism you’re trying to sell it as actually leads to productive conversation instead of being told you’re acting like children making off hand comments without due consideration of what I am getting at.

You can’t socialize if you’re moving around. That’s like saying you’re being social because you’re standing in the middle of a crowded city street on your way to work with everyone else on your way to work. Nevermind you’ve shared not a single moment of conversation with any of them.

On the other hand, this conversation leads me to believe you’re all quite right. Conversation should definitely be kept to a bare minimum in video games. Anet, continue forwards as you have!

how do I talk in game I dont, I talk with teamspeak ventrilo and the like.

Now how I type in game that is text yes your right.

Is text good to do when your fighting.
No its not hence people dont do it.

In olden times people talked and socialised while waiting for hitpoints and mana to regenerate, this game dont have that and instead want you to go over and do the next event or listen in on the npcs explaining why your doing said event chains.

Its also good that you dident explain away my point.
About the brain dead activity that made you able to socialise the only way you see in this game to btw mate.

With this game Arenanet already provided the environment and necessary tools to socialize. If you want more socializing then socialize more. Good luck.
