Computer Specs
I assume they will be the same as the base game?
Well, apparently there was some talk about “improved graphics”, though I don’t really know what that means.
I believe the system requirements should be more or less the same… I couldn’t imagine they’d do a lot of engine upgrades for the new expansion, but we’ll just have to wait and see.
It’s the same engine, I wouldn’t worry about the specs. I’m pretty sure the game archive is going to take an additional 5GB though, so make sure you have enough space on your disk.
If they do anything to make the game look better, it would be an improvements of shaders, or texture in higher resolution. You can turn both of those options down.
There is a possibility that the engine with get a graphic-update.
I also hope they will release the system requirements very soon I have an old laptop that runs GW2 so I cannot handle much more.
They said that the maguuma jungle is the most detailed part of the world they created so it might be the graphic engine has been updated.
If so it would be really nice of Anet to give their loyal players some time to upgrade their computers.
Hopefully they keep minimum specs intact, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they were notched up.
Well, there was this shortly after GW2’s release: http://www.ign.com/articles/2013/02/14/ncsoft-licenses-unreal-engine-4
So yeah, an updated engine is possible, though I wouldn’t say it’s likely. The original minimum requirements are pretty low anyway (AMD Athlon, 2GB Ram, & literally ANY graphics card made in the last 10 years); I’m pretty sure my phone could probably meet the minimum specs at this point. So essentially anything more powerful than a potato should be able to run GW2 at Low settings, or with the resolution simply dropped to 720, if needed.
If you are actually using a potato to comment on these forums, however, you can buy an overclockable Intel G3258 Haswell CPU for $50 @ Microcenter now: http://www.microcenter.com/product/435187/G3258_32_GHz_LGA1150_Boxed_Processor
It’s getting harder and harder to even find a computer that won’t run GW2 at this point.
My laptop is five and a half years old so it had both age and design(being a laptop) against him.

RIP City of Heroes
I hope its the same. My computer is so trash that if they increased the requirement by a little bit , I would lagg like crazy and DC.
I think hardware specs will be fairly similar to the main game, maybe even a bit lower? how about support for mantle? Hell, by the time it’s going to be released even win 10 and DX12 will be a thing, so i hope they use the opportunity to further improve performers. but overall I’m far more curious about the storage space requirements, as this could give us a hint of how big the expansion is really going to be.
Probly between 10-15GB a wild guess .
I guess it will run on current specs just fine but if you cant play with Semi-Maxed settings in Instance/Normal content then i think its a good time to upgrade things considering the future anyhow.
