Will Anet staff tell us if the control role will be more useful in HoT PvE content?

Because I am looking at the Revenant’s skills and traits, and it’s looking like it could be fun to play defense as, against non-player characters,,aka PvE.

Control has always been very useful in both pve and pvp. I don’t see why it would be different in HoT.

What make you think I’m sarcastic?
I’ve always used control skills in GW2 and everyone I play with does so too.
Sure maybe some classes have less than other but I main mesmer and ele and they have plenty for every situations.

Here I’ll lead by example.

Dire has always been useful in dungeons.

Unshakeable, Stack&smack tactics…

Basically, Control has always been the weakest of the roles in PvE. DPS everyone knows and Support is also very powerful. Control…not so much. Basically just Guardian GS5 to save time rounding up trash.

Unshakeable just mean you have to use even more control and time them more carefully and use actual group organization to deal with it instead of just throwing CC left and right without actual reason.
Sure it’s harder when everyone is just soloing together but in group it’s not such a big issue.

Unshakeable also kills the use of Weakness, Cripple, Chill, Immobilize, and Blind. Especially Blind. Weakness is also limited in use by the fact very few mobs actually use dodge rolls.

Then there are the new bosses that are immune to all snares of all types altogether.

It’s not just the interrupts that are “control” after all.

Many of the bosses will inherently be immune to stuff like taunt, just because of how they are mechanically designed. Even on new bosses, I don’t see taunt being allowed to be used on stuff like that dragon boss shown.

are you sarcastic because i cant tell

if you think “control” has not always been useful in pve then you are probably part of the group of people who get carried through dungeons and fractals.
