First time I played full events (2 freaking hours) of Dragon’s Stand.
The game crashed as soon as we kill the last boss.
Is that frequent ?
Really, I spent nearly 2 hours for 0 reward at the end, I’m not sure I will try again.

First, you probably spent about 90 minutes and missed out on around 200k XP and a couple golds worth of rewards. It’s not the end of the world. Second, that sucks but it is probably an issue with your personal client. You should post this in the bug report forums with your computer specs/game specs/error report.

I mean I run this game off both Mac and Bootcamp and I’ve never had this happen to me once. You’ll get no help here, if it consistently happens I would open a ticket or try bug report forums/the Internet for advice.

Run it again, see if this is a consistent thing or a one time deal. My two cents.

Actually this also happens for the Octovine Event as well. And I know it’s not my setup. It is random as it doesn’t happen every single time, more like about half the time. Error reports sent every time. It’s very frustrating. Maybe a refund should be in order for those that cannot enjoy the product

That is a major bummer and I agree this is something that needs to be addressed, but I don’t understand how it isn’t your setup when it’s not happening to everyone. I haven’t experienced this either and I have done the AB meta well over 30 times, both on mac beta and bootcamp. Does your system run at a decent temp? Have you tried uninstalling/repairing?

I haven’t had the octovine crash but Dragonstand has crashed the two times I’ve been there during/right at the end of the final cutscene. The first time I was solo, so I don’t know what happened the second time it seemed to be a map/server crash as when I logged back in my entire squad was scattered around various megaserver instances and we asked but no-one was in the one we’d just completed. Very annoying.

TURN YOUR SETTINGS DOWN

Fixed the problem for me at least, have not crashed since I did that
Could be theres some sort of memory leak issue going on and if thats the case hopefully they fix it but in the mean time maybe that will help

Most wanted in game additions: Beastiary, readable books

One of the MOST common solutions to this problem is swapping to the 64 bit client. its not automatically downloaded since it is TECHNICALLY beta. However it runs just as well as the 32 bit client and solves pretty much all Memory related crashes (which the dragons stand crashes usually are)

You can download the 64 bit client in your account settings under content. I give this advice to every person that complains of crashes and almost all of them say this has fixed it.

edit: simply drop what you download into your gw2 folder BEFORE running it. that way it won’t have to reinstall the game. If you do that it will only install what is necessary and then will run just like the 32 bit.

edit2: don’t expect any magic solution for this crash if you continue to use the 32 bit client. From what I have read by devs on the subject the 32 bit just can’t handle what happens on those maps and runs out of memory. Which is what causes the crash. But if a dev that happens to see this could clarify it would probably help make things clear >.< I am a user not a maker after all.

Edit 3: there is also a stickied post at the top of this forum that can direct you to info on the 64 bit client.

Just a note on this, in my case the second time it crashed I had already turned my settings to the lowest settings and I’ve been using the 64 bit client for the entire time its been available. Still crashed, might have time to give it another go today, for science!
