So Destiny’s Edge is mostly missing in action, between Rytlock in the Mists, Caithe going AWOL, and Logan, Eir, and Zojja missing in the Pact’s battle. We know Rytlock is coming back as a Revenant. Caithe will be in the story, and the MIA crew (Logan, Eir, Zojja) will in all likelihood come back as well.

Do you think that Destiny’s Edge may come back in the form of their respective specialized professions?

doubt it. there’s no plot reason for them to change, unlike rytlock, who spent months doing god knows what in the mists.

Yeah, no reason for them to change. Although, there’s nothing stopping them from announcing the fact that some of them may already be using specialisations.

For example, Zojja is an Elementalist and a Golemancer (which could be a specialisation at some point) and Caithe in the memory seed story is shown to have unique abilities which may or may not be included in a specialisation at some point, too.

golemancer is a racial thing, so not becoming a specialization.

and caithe is “what non-thieves think thieves are like”. that elite skill where you can spam backstabs from stealth and teleport, lol. then the reflects, the spinning for ridiculous damage, the caltrops that apply torment, etc.

caithe is just a stupidly OP version of a thief, and none of her skills have any semblance of fairness :P

Like I said, it was just a possibility, Scarlet studied with the Asura for a while so it’s not too much of a longshot to assume others could study Golemancy.

And yeah, Caithe has some pretty wild skills but it should at least be on the tables that they’d rework some of them for use as a specialisation at a later date, especially if they tone them down.

but all of caithe’s skills are existing thief skills, amped up, with the exception of the one where he runs forward evading attacks.

you have her autoattack ending on basilisk venom (a thief elite)
heartseeker that hits multiple times and poisons
death blossom that reflects
dancing dagger with immobilize
whirling axe (stolen skill)
withdraw
caltrops with torment
scorpion wire
and an elite that puts you invisible and shadowsteps you to your target while backstabbing, which is a common thief combo (except we need to use 2 skills for that and we’re revealed after that).

unfortunately, nothing caithe has can be salvaged, because they’re not really original ideas, just amped up regular skills.

Notice Logan holding Guild Tower Shield in point of no return opposed to his regular seraph shield. It’s just a skin, but might be a hint good old Logan is about to go kitten on us with some new tricks to not fall behind Rytlock.

I find it hard to see Eir as a druid.

For Logan, Zojja, and Caithe – it depends on what the specializations are.

Notice Logan holding Guild Tower Shield in point of no return opposed to his regular seraph shield. It’s just a skin, but might be a hint good old Logan is about to go kitten on us with some new tricks to not fall behind Rytlock.

He also wields a sword – counter to his usual mace during the Personal Story and story mode dungeons.

However, during Queen’s Jubilee in S1, he had the same gear (Seraph sword + guild tower shield). So I don’t think it’s not too special.

Dear ANet writers,
Stop treating GW2 as a single story. Each Season and expansion should be their own story.

I disagree. While caithe is in a way an overpowered version of thief, there are some unique aspects, that in a toned down, balanced version could work. For instance, skill nr 2, i love a lot. If you don’t aim it correct, it’s not good. But if you aim it well, oh boy, lovely damage. Secondly her stats are Sinister. While we can play with that now too, here weapon/utility skills are much more tied to this stat choice, and maybe a thief specialization can focus on sinister stats for example. Having longer evasion on skils (and perhaps lower damage), could also be option, skill nr 3 at the moment. I vastly think current death blossom is very bad. 0,2 sec evasion is impossible to time, especiall with before/and after cast.

The ‘overpowered’ damage of course should not be copied, but I think that is a given.

Legendary weapons can be hidden now!
No excuse anymore for not giving ‘hide mounts’-option
No thanks to unidentified weapons.

And we’ll be introduced to a new Tengu warrior who helps bring them back together and eventually joins Destiny’s edge just before the 2nd expansion (and her specialization is samurai).

Hmm marjory already seems to be enroute to changing. And the others have all been thrown into an EXTREMELY dangerous situation…assuming destinies edge 1 survived the crash. Taimi has been learning from a charr engineer hasn’t she? Maybe her golem will come out with a really big explosive hammer soon. Or shel start using drones to support it.

So far the 6 I see most likely of changing is 1: Rytlock (obviously)

2: Marjory (id say this is also pretty obvious)

3: Loghain (as weird as this may sound. his overall character doesn’t seem to have undergone any radical shifts. I could see him changing heavily due to his time in the jungle…becoming more desperate…more brutal. Mayhap him being in immediate and life ending peril with no word from him from awhile will make the queen actually accept him..provided she actually has feelings for him and shes not just using him like a 20 copper dock maiden.

4: taimi: This one I wouldn’t be surprised on. Shes actively learning from a new teacher. Shes been forced out of her golem and held helpless recently. That kinda situation can radically change your view of the world. Especially as a child.

5: Caithe: Despite the reveal shes a big unknown. Shes already an incredibly powerful thief. So much so I could see her being something else entirely. She is VERY determined..even willing to be seen as a traitor to accomplish her goals which we still aren’t 100% sure on. And now she may be heading to the heart of the one being that seems to show absolute dominance of her entire race? Even if somehow the dream AND the egg shield her. I dont see her getting out of that unscathed. The psychological shock of being attacked mentally by mordremoth (even if somehow in a lesser fashion) could be enough to drive her away form being (just a thief)

6: Eir: As a norn shes closer to the “spriitual” side of rangers than rox by a long shot. Shes also incredibly determined to protect and hold together her team. I could see this driving her to learn a new path.

we already have caithe’s #2 skill… it’s called heartseeker and it’s the skill that gives thieves a “spam 2 to win” bad rep.

you sure he wielded a mace? ‘cause i’m pretty sure his go-to combo is seraph sword and shield (well, golden sword and shield. he farms CM, i bet), and during those very specific instances mentioned, he brought a guild shield instead.

the white was too bright, when he went to look in the mirror he was blinded, so he dyed his clothes abyss.
