Okay. I’m a veteran, noob, player and I just bought HoT. I did not preorder it. Do I need to download the entire game again? I’m asking this because yesterday (10/23) they did the upgrade to HoT (it took me hours and hours) and now, I have the strange felling that I didn’t really need to buy the game. Help me out guys, please.

No, you could continue playing without HoT, but you would not be able to access many new things, even though they downloaded to your PC. By buying HoT, you are not buying textures and code. You are buying a key which will give you access to it.

I am not sure what your question is…. You mean you installed base game, then you bought HoT and if that means downloading a new client? if thats your question then the answer is no, it will simply update.

IF your question is, had you not bought HoT would you have saved yourself having to download the HoT content? the answer to that would be no, everyone’s client updated even those who didnt buy it.

If you’re big on PvP and WvW, you’ll be fine. No need to purchase anything.

If you’d like more PvE stuff, then you’ll need to purchase HoT to gain access to the new segment of the map.
