Guild Wars 2

Hello everyone

I´m new at this game and i just bought guild wars 2 heart of thorns throught amazon. I install the game (I´m thinking so), created my account and launch the GW2 icon. For some reason it is downloading something that wouldn´t allow me to play and i don´t in any part that says heart of thorns. So, did i get the expansion because that´s what i paid for.

First run has to download up to date files in order to be able to play, this may take some time depending on your Internet connection, once finished you should be ok to play, when updates are released, the new files have to be downloaded as well, you don’t have to worry tho as the client does it for you automatically and lets you know when your version is playable.

Thanks mate. So i just have to wait when i thought i bought the game with expansion. MMM…. Well let see if it´s worth the time and money.

You did buy the game with the expansion. ANet doesn’t sell the game without the expansion any more, they replaced the core game with the expansion which includes the core game instead of making you buy it twice. The thing is that if you didn’t have the game loaded on your computer already, you’ve got a looooot of loading and patching to do Don’t worry, once you’ve got the client, future patches are likely to load much faster than any other MMO’s updates. Unless you’re trying to download at the same time as millions of other players, there have been issues lately with really slow loads.

And by “really slow,” I mean gosh, a really big one took me almost an hour once! Which is just the normal time to get updates for many other games. Usually patches load far faster than you can get to and read the patch notes, even when said notes consist of “Fixed a server crash.”

If the Op reads this yes you got HoT , but there is a catch to HoT you will not even be able to go there until your characters are level 80. So do not expect to be able to play HoT right away. Now the Core game mastery system I do not think you have to be level 80 for that. Take your time on leveling explore the game have fun they are not closing the game in 2 days lol.
