I would like to get HoT Expansion but 50 bucks is too much for me right now so I found some third party website which sells HoT game code little cheaper in digital way but they never mention that it works on Mac. My question is, even if it is a digital game code and account bound, is there any difference for mac and PC in game codes?

There is no difference in the codes. Once you buy a valid game code you simply apply it to your account for full access to HoT on Mac or PC. Be warned though that you should only buy codes from Anet or one of their authorized retailers. I’ve seen an increase in posts on the support forum from people that bought a code from a source that isn’t an authorized retailer and ended up getting their account suspended because they bought a code that ended up being stolen.
