I’m seriously disappointed with the lack of developer commentary on the topic of “small guilds”. Specifically, how small guilds are getting the shaft by Arena.net’s attempt to mitigate personal bank guilds. Is this really the direction the game is taking? Where you have to be part of a zerg guild, in order to participate in the newly gated guild system?

My guild is only 3 months old, I have been working my kitten off to get a handful of active players to join it, and now when I’m attempting to establish a guild hall to earn back (yes, earn back, because most of them were stripped away), all the perks of being in a guild, I find that I’m being blocked by absurd requirements. Like being level 10 in order to do a PVE mission.

If you really didn’t want small guilds in the game, then you maybe you should have removed the ability for ONE PERSON to start a guild in the first place. But until you fix your guild REQUIREMENTS (ONE PERSON), then everything involving your guild system should scale from ONE PERSON to the 500+ member guilds out there. I cannot stress this enough.

Same here, and I too feel not only dissapointed but scammed.
Because they said they were going to take small guild into consideration.
So I bought the expansion, and surprise; they didn’t.

Building a large guild this late in the game’s life can be difficult. After 3 years, most people it seems are already in guilds, join the same guilds their friends are in, or join a large guild that’s been around since launch.

Very few players seem to be looking for guilds or even wanting them, so building a guild may be very difficult now.

Our guild is feeling the same pain. We are 10 or so active, but hardly on at the same time and cannot even get the guild claim completed, despite pre-HoT being a fully upgraded guild whom formed at early release. We would like to see current guild mechanics scaled to include 5-10 people sized guilds as well.

On a side note we are recruiting adult gamers to join us if interested, Valhalla Sector [VS] on hedge of denravi NA if interested feel free to ask in game.
