…or if you must, then flag an initial thread as SPOILER in the topic, and use the spoiler function (just above the text box, in hints ).
Look at this as if you were going to “quote” it (the arrow below) and you’ll see the functionality:
This is a spoiler. Use the spoiler function to avoid being seen as a really, really rude person.
Be considerate of other players.
Thank you Gaile. It’s sad how many of these spoilers with the spoiler in the title have appeared (and there are some on the front page of this subforum..still!). There was even a post from a dev which I caught when I went through the dev tracker for something, which spoilt a major twist – was very annoying.

Completely agree – The problem is that the spoilers are generally also in the topic title.
For the next month at least a sticky should be posted informing players that ANY topic started which contains spoilers can only be named ‘Story Spoilers’ and that any breaking of this rule will result in lengthy forum posting ban.
Can you please delete threads that have spoilers in the title?
Somebody just posted a thread, and although it has [SPOILER] on the front of the thread name, it still spoils what happens to Mordremoth at the end of the expansion. Delete it, please. Ive just had the fundamental end of HoT spoiled to me because some arrogant kitten couldn’t keep himself to himself.

So..if it has [Spoilers] dont read it..
Please sticky this in all caps lol. So tired of coming across spoiler threads without being labeled as such.
At least here it can be curbed, unlike ingame where it is constantly being spoiled in chat.
….Bugs will be there on the initial release of any game….
Check out the Bauxite event. Then re-read what you wrote and stop posting on this. Thank you.
You were the one that posted complaints in a thread about spoilers, which has nothing to do with the topic. I would suggest you create your own thread.

Why did so many people spoil here? Because of the horrible final boss fight design.
I’ve killed the boss. Didn’t have any issues. I’m not saying you’re lying or anything, just letting you know that there is some of us who have done the boss before.
I know there is bugs. Bugs happen. It’s part of gaming. Nothing is perfect. <insert more zany quotes here>
Point is, patience. Bugs will be there on the initial release of any game. They can’t predict every outcome and how things will work out once they go live. We just have to have patience while they figure out how to fix the bugs as quick as they can.
And them making a post on the forums isn’t going to prevent those fixes from happening.
So a final boss fight should only let “some people” finish it and let the rest suffer in the 100 bugs it has?
Nothing is prefect, but the quality of Mordremoth, the final boss fight, even by the standard of the initial release, was absolutely terrible.
I never said that. I was letting you know that it is possible to complete it, even though it is bugged. Yeah the bugs suck, we all know that. But sometimes it doesn’t bug. All you can do is try again or wait. No sense in raging over it, when they already know about it and are actively trying to fix it.
Step back a bit, take a breather and know that they are trying to fix it. I’m sure they don’t plan on leaving it bugged like it is. Either wait till it is fixed and do something else, or try again and hope it doesn’t bug next time.
So you can relax knowing that the team responsible for fixing the game is busy at work.
That’s a big relief. Thank you.
Gaile, can we please get a mod looking at titles of some of the threads too? I came in today to post about something and got tons of spoilers as thread titles. I wont be back now until I finish the story I guess. -_-

If the topic has “Spoilers” I recommend that you don’t even open the thread, because you don’t have a way of knowing what is told, or when it will appear in the thread.
This thread required a considerable amount of time to clean it up. Please do not fill it with attempted jokes, or with commentary that is irrelevant to the topic of not posting spoilers. There are many thread in which you can post your thoughts, but this is not one.
Unless you have a comment, question, or concern about the process of dealing with spoilers, please do not post in this thread.

I think what CandyHearts is saying is that people are putting the spoiler IN the topic’s title. Meaning unless you avoid the forum, you can’t avoid the spoil.

What CandyHearts means is that people are putting thread titles as “OMG [Redacted] kills [Redacted]!!” or “How about when [Redacted] took the [Redacted].”
It’s not so hard to avoid spoilers when they’re in the thread because it’s a simple matter of not opening the thread. When browsing the sub-forum it’s next to impossible to avoid spoilers if the spoiler itself is the thread title. :<

I think you might be missing what he/she means. I came into this forum today (fortunately I had completed this part of the story) but the title of a post was Spoiler"Eir is Dead!!!!". So she isn’t saying look through threads with spoiler in the title. She means read the titles of the threads because some titles in and of themselves, are spoilers.

To be fair to the OP of the post whose title you posted, that was a speculation thread and was initially posted back in July. It was based on promo pictures.
One thing that can help with avoiding spilling stuff, even when you mark a thread as having spoilers, is to talk in code words that only people who have seen the content will understand. For example, say you have a battle where you are fighting a mob that is physically big. You could say “the big guy.”
Just imagine you are a spy who has to keep secrets and you’ll probably get the idea.
So..if it has [Spoilers] dont read it..
You don’t grasp what im saying.
In the TITLE of the thread, there is a spoiler. So for example, I went into the GW2:HoT section on the forums, and the thread TITLE is "[SPOILER] “character name” dies!"
Im requesting that threads that have spoilers in the TITLE are deleted. Obviously I can avoid threads if the spoilers are inside the actual thread, but when the title, which I cannot avoid, has spoilers in, its just sheer arrogance.

Please sticky this. Was just spoiled by some self-centred kid.
