I’ve been gathering them when I see them, hoping to complete the journals. I thought I found them in the same locations a few time but now I’m not finding them so frequently. So are they in fixed locations, ie I will only ever find a specific entry once in one place, or do I just need to wait a bit?

They’re in fixed locations. Dulfy has a guide to them if you decide to use it.

They aren’t too ahrd to find honestly, just explore and make sure you have the “show intractable objects” option checked.

The only one I missed was one tucked under a rock behind the coliseum.

I did finish it, a couple more on my own — I had found most of them already — and Dulfy maps to round out the others. I generally do the bulk of these scavenger hunts exploring without a guide, but the last few finicky bits after I’ve figured out the way they work I find less frustrating if I do them with pointers.

I’ve had the show yellow object names option on since the day it was added to the game. It’s one of the best QoLs ever!

SO HAPPY they are individually labelled! That made getting the last ones so much easier (especially compared to that coin hunt in Dry Top back in the day)

One thing I noticed however. I got all the completed books in my inventory now, but I also still have books labelled (incomplete). That was a bit odd that the incomplete books were not removed from my inventory when it granted me the completed version. I assume it’s safe to toss those incomplete ones out?

Only the one character to find the last page gets the finished book. I also have the complete version on one twink and an unfinished copy on another one.

I glanced at a comment/suggestion one of my guildies made ingame the other night.

Best suggested way to start the collection for these 3 books would be to go about it as a scavenger hunt, running into each page without a guide. Then wait till you’re over 50% to completion, then use the guide for the rest. It’s what I tried and it made it feel finishing it all made it go much quicker.

Turns out I was missing some easily missable spots.

I really enjoyed this scavenger hunt which made me explore the map carefully. I did find the bulk of the papers on my own and only consulted Dulfy’s guide for the one or two out of each book that I could not seem to find. I had everything on one character so I did destroy the “unfinished” books and kept the completed ones.

I went back and read them in order and wow….. interesting info in those journals.

There was another thread about giving us a bookcase in our home instance so we could put the books there and re-read them when we wanted to which I really liked. That or once we had a completed book we could just go to an instanced section of the priory library and read them there.
