Does anyone know if the Elite Specializations are going to change the profession’s name? For example in my hero panel, or when someone in the world sees my character, will it say lvl80 Chronomancer/etc.?

I think yes, they should get even their own icon

I think it’s just the name of the trait line.

I reme,mber reading they want you to say you are an “inser elite spec name here” over the main class name if you choose it, but i don’t think it’ll actually say you are or give u a different symbol

So when you make your ranger a druid, you are a druid, you have a druid profession icon and players can know that’s a druid and they have a good idea of what a druid does and what the druid profession mechanics are.

If they continue adding elite professions, at the rate of one set of 9 each year there will be 18 to remember with this expansion, in another year there will be 27 profession icons to remember and 36 icons in 2 years. It won’t take long for people to need to carry a cheat sheet with them to determine who and what the players are.

My exact thought

I thought the idea was one every expansion, not every year. I seriously doubt we get an expansion in 2016. Probably living story 3b and 4 as well as maybe some stuff like sab and WvW tournament and feature qol pack.

We had better get another expac sooner than later. There is zero chance of this game surviving another three years between them.

Idk. I remember a post where they said this expansion laid down the framework for new Elite Professions and Mastery systems and that they could be made up and released fairly easily and quickly. While they didn’t give a time frame for it, a new set of Elite Professions a year (when the whole expansion took a year) doesn’t seem to far fetched.

3 years? no. But maybe a year and a half or so. I’m guessing. How long was it between expansions for WoW? I honestly don’t know, it would make an interesting comparison.
