Regardless. We know we have at least 9 more weeks to go (one week per specialization) and possibly more weeks for any additional information (such as guild halls). Furthermore Anet has said that the release date depends on how the closed and open betas go (and since we don’t even know when those will be..).

Based on earnings projections it’s either late Q2 or Q3

all the good stuff are releasing during the new school season…i hate that!

See, when Heavensword was announced back in October 2014 for FFXIV, they still had a ballpark of “Spring 2015” rearing and ready. Now it’s only 5 months later and they’ve got a solid release date, pricing, and versions.

GW2 HoT announced in January of this year with 0 ballpark and 0 information about anything other than that there would be a boxed version. No season for release, no year, and certainly no pricing.

Release date and pricing information will be released today.

So you would rather they just have a set release date no matter how beta testing goes and potentially release something that is completely broken?
Setting a release date/period more or less forces them to release is at that time, anything else would be a PR nightmare. Just like how releasing a broken game would be a PR nightmare. So basically a lose/lose.

Closed beta should start up this or next week. After that we should be able to get an ETA.

To be fair they have said expansion for Guild Wars 2 every year since release. They are just speculating. And have been very much wrong before.

Yeah, found out that is a report from some investment firm, and is not hired by NCsoft, and they are making their own speculation. So we have to take what they are saying with a grain of salt.

All signs are pointing to this year. Signs ranging from Anet starting beta signups, to data mined information, and the amount of HoT related information Anet has given us. They don’t spread info until stuff is close to being done.

My best guess for the release is sometime in Q3 of 2015. Finish the beta which will probably last a week or two, have another one and then release a month later.

As a player on the NA west coast, I’ve noticed that they haven’t announced ANYTHING regarding HoT showing up at PAX Prime in August. My guess is release will be just before/during PAX Prime, especially since the show is hosted very close to ANet’s home office.
