I’m just curious… do you think the servers will be mobbed opening morning for the expansion?

More so than usual.

I’m excited… I’m going to make a new character right away opening day, start out fresh.

This game uses megaservers, so it shouldn’t matter. If a map gets full it will just generate another.

I’m expecting a slow download and the forum to crash for a while when everyone hits download 1 sec after it starts. So yah.

haha yes, I’m curious if that will happen…

It wouldn’t surprise me if it did.

I’m not too worried, I have to work any way until the morning on Friday so hopefully I’ll miss most of the drama in person; though I will be packing popcorn to eat at work to eat while reading the forums.

Hell I was originally going to have a vacation start tomorrow night, but I figured release would be a disaster and they were offering me OT and incentive pay to come in.

Do you mean mobbed in general or mobbed with new or returning players ?

I think in general there will be a high volume of people trying to get in, more so then any other given day.

As for new or returning players, I think the numbers some people are expecting are over exaggerated, there will definitely be quite a few but I highly doubt there will be the tidal wave of players inc that many are expecting.

The problem (for the Americas at least) is the time. Midnight on the west coast, 3 AM on the east coast. Even if everyone did download not that many are going to be playing, not at those hours. It’s going to be later that the most people will be on for the NA servers.

see every other midnight release ever, I personally stay awake/change my sleep schedule for that one day to pull an all nighter on said game.
Hopefully the servers can handle it and arenanet knows what will happen!
