Q:

This is a question I had founded in the notion that Slow, the opposite of Quickness, will be a proper condition. I think Quickness becoming a boon would be good for a number of reasons:

  • Counterplay (Boon Strip/Corruption)
  • Corrupted Quickness = Slow
  • Converted Slow = Quickness
  • More things can use Quickness fairly if there is play/counterplay to it.

It honestly appears they’re going this way, but it would be nice to get some clarity on this.

I’m also curious if resistance will replace blanket immunities like berserker stance. Will berserker stance simply be changed to now grant 4 seconds of resistance for example.

And then if they’re going to do this for the condition side of things, does that mean they’ll also do it for the physical side of things and make things like Endure Pain a proper boon? And if so, what would its logical opposite be?

I think the logical opposite of endure pain would be 25 stacks of vuln.

Then the logical opposite of resistance? Perhaps vuln is being changed to improve damage from conditions?

We’re really grasping at straws

I’m betting Resistance will convert to Burning, Fear, or 3 stacks of Torment. Fear is the least likely of the three, but since the stronger boons tend to corrupt into the stronger conditions, I think it will be one of these three.

If it converts to Vulnerability, that’s kind of a kick in the teeth to Necros.

Probably Torment. Torment doesn’t have any really unique boon adequate.

Here’s to hoping ANet decides to answer, then!

I think that should exactly what happens, although I’d expect the duration to remain as-is.
