Does anyone know how big the download on launch day is going to be in MB/GB?

I have limited bandwidth and im getting closer to my monthly allowance.

I heard that the more hero points you have, the less you will need to download

I doubt it will be 12gb imo.
We tec have most it already through beta testing.

I say 2-3 gb at the most,unless you have to download the full game from scratch.

Probably in total, but you have to realize we already downloaded a decent chunk because of the betas. Parts of verdant brink, all the specializations, and everything in betas has already been downloaded. So that stuff will be needing patching or updates but you already got it. who knows how much we have been downloading weekly. IT might be small download or just to dl what left.

Edit correction: Now it shows 3% at 129MB, so the percentage must be number of files, not total size of download.

I just downloaded the new patch size was 3.5gb

at 38% at 817mb.. If upgrading your game much smaller. Full game dl is going to be crazy big..

Your edit is correct. Completion percentage is based on number of files downloaded of how many there are to download…strangely.

Game is playable at: 734 MB

I just finished downloading the patch and my GW2 folder is at a total of 28.2GB.

GF finished the download with around 3.5gig.

My download is still going at 95% and it’s already sitting at 3709MB.

Why in the world is there such a big difference? I was online just before launch.

Only difference is OS. She uses Win10, I use Win7.

I downloaded 1.3gb before being able to play, then new build build came and I’m waiting it 100% Download. Now it’s around 800mb I think itll reach 1gb soon

So around 2.3gb or more, overall

Percentage wise it went fast till like 8500 (no of files) after that its is really slow. Seems like these files are pretty big.
Any heads up how much more (time or size wise) will it be for me ??

If you are downloading the entire game and not just the HoT patch and subsequent updates, then you have a long way to go. My Gw2.dat file is 24.4GB so a total of 24.5-25GB total download size for the entire game with a single language being used. Total size will be more if you switched to a non-English language as those language files would then need to be downloaded as well (likely several hundred megabytes to a gig or few for another language).

I have been playing for 2 years or more and yes till a day before HoT release and in English(US) language.

Right now my download is like going on file 8275 file and this one has been already gone above 500 MB seems like.
( I did close and relaunched game a few times from the initial start of 110K files (total at start of HoT download)
